Ava’s image keep changing in my head. I don’t think I’ll finish it (since it was a class doodle and class is done) so I’m posting this here for @jedimasteramell
Five Times, Ava & Thahn
Ava/Thahn // SWTOR // SFW
Original characters, something quick for @jedi-gingervora that I meant to finish weeks ago.
The Five Times Ava Slipped Away from Thahn and the One Time He Went After Her
The first two times were on Sullust. An assassination, a firefight, alarms, guards, and fleeing down shadowed alleyways. He’d met her at her brightest: a fierce hunter, keen eyes and sharper aim, lips drawn in a determined scowl lit in flashes from the scarlet bolts of her blasters. He remembered the dance around the room, through the dust and rubble, painted with scorch marks and sweat; guns traded for hand-to-hand, only to be interrupted before one could gain the advantage. She ran, slipping into the shadows and streets, he pursued, only to lose her like wind through his fingers yet stamping a permanent impression in his mind.
The second occurred two weeks later, a to-be-continued where it could have been an end. What began as unintentional rivalry morphed into an alliance of convenience; and though fraught with half-truths and suspicious glances they had fallen into a rhythm as partners. Days of surveillance, planning, and duty; nights of a pleasing, carnal lie. With their mission complete they were left with the question: what now? If she knew what he was she never said, and if she knew what he was, she knew how this would end for her. Yet he had not decided, conflicted in a way he’d never been. In the end he justified that it would be a waste. But the huntress took no chances and slipped away their final morning as he pretended to sleep, and in her place remained his guilt.
The third was a case of almost but not quite. Who would have known Intelligence would have put him once more in her path. A popular space station, haven for the galaxy’s killers, smugglers and other degenerates. In his element, at the top of his game, nothing even threatened to shake him. Until she walked in. Somehow her presence broke his illusion, no longer the affected accent sounded believable, no longer the clothes fit right. He had no proof she wasn’t fooled, but under her ferocious eyes he felt as prey. He lost control, meeting her again, and when she smiled, he was found out, unraveled and thrown, regretting and drowning beautifully in letting her live to haunt him. And, as was her stunning nature, she left before he could confront her, leaving him to wallow in the what could have been.
The fourth was on Hutta, a reunion fatefully predetermined. The years had hardly changed her, and the ones that added aging layers to him shed upon seeing her again. He couldn’t express, shouldn’t express, the pleasure in watching her work again, in experiencing the fire in her spirit and letting it burn him. Oddly, less pretenses in turn felt like more of them, a natural state eluded him, comments and questions lost before they met his tongue. Even his thoughts raced haphazardly, forcing awkward conversation and odd pauses as he fought to understand what might be of interest to her. But just as she had so many times before, she slid away without a word and he was left to wonder if he would ever capture her interest the way she had caught his.
The fifth time brought with it a resolution. Dromund Kass in its dark, violent, storms, and even darker, and more vicious games set their paths together, and this time, he could not deny their consistency. Fearless, efficient, deadly, more than able to keep up with his game, and to catch him in the odd edges where how he was raised, and how he was trained didn’t quite meet, she had long since demanded his awe and admiration. Fascinated by her and her game, what a fool he would be to pass up the chance to see her perform, she the only non-Chiss he’d ever seen worthy of the Red Flame.
Thus when Ava departed, no exchange, not a goodbye, there were two options: go after her and maybe someday get a answer to an unknown question, or diverge and be haunted by the notion of her forever. Thahn, trembling in a desperate fog, a pain of yearning seeded in his heart, knew there was only one real choice, and as he should have the four times before, followed her trail left in the dust.
@uldren-sov Oh no I made Daya and shes still too cute.
And then I made Jac (and Zubé!) and Thahn because why not.
