Walk pass the outlet several times and saw the Surf & Turf promotion but didn’t know it is a collaboration between Sushi GoGo (争鲜gogo) and Miss Tam Chiak, a local food blogger. Anyway, sis told me to buy my own dinner since she is going out for her company’s lunch gathering and will buy back dinner early for mum.
I went with Grilled Beef & Shrimp Duo (S$6) since the sushi look pretty sitting in the bento box. Tender grilled beef belly 🐄 and succulent shrimp 🦐 with Thai chilli sauce, served on sweet beancurd sushi. And here I was thinking, sushi is meant to be eaten whole in one mouthful. But these sweet beancurd sushi 🍣 are simply too big and took me two bites to finish them!
The next sushi bento I chosen is this California Rolls (S$5.50). This popular uramaki (inside-out sushi roll) contains avocado 🥑, cucumber 🥒, and imitation crabstick 🦀 wrapped in nori (seaweed) and seasoned sushi rice. The outer layer of rice is often coated in toasted sesame seeds or fish roe like tobiko. I love the drizzles of mayonnaise on the sushi 🍣 making them so eggciting (pun intended) and fun to eat.
There is a promotion going on every Monday to Thursday where every S$7 purchase entitles you to buy selected items at just S$1. I took the opportunity to pick up a box of Cream Puffs 🧆 (usual price S$2) for just one buck and they taste good too.
