The racist and transphobic tears being shed over the casting in The Odyssey almost make me want to see it.... almost.
I mean just imagine looking at Lupita Nyong'o and not thinking, "Yeah, that's the most beautiful woman in the world, I'd go to war for that." You must be seriously estranged from beauty to think anything else.
This manga is fucking awesome
I can absolutely see each member of Huntrix assuming the other two are not virgins, while all three of them are.
Zoey
Perception: She's so cute and affectionate and energetic and uninhibited!
Reality: Was the Weird Kid in school, has closeness and relationship issues due to her parents' messy divorce, when she dares to make a move she tries to flirt by infodumping or by love poems that are too much for most people.
Mira
Perception: The classic take-no-shit does-what-she-wants bad girl. She must have a string of conquests as long as her hair.
Reality: Didn't like or trust anyone she met when she was still in her family's social circle, now she scares off everyone not brave or perceptive enough to see the lovergirl inside the badgirl. Also a little afraid of fallout from being a hunter hurting anyone close to her.
Rumi
Perception: Gorgeous, confident, in control. She could have whoever she wanted.
Reality: Hello, patterns? Also, trauma?
very astute analysis
Yeah, Iâm with Harrison Ford on this. Maybe itâs a failure of imagination in my part but Iâm not seeing how a guy fucks a completely convex surface.
illustrated this as fast as possible before class. I literally already had this headcanon so I jaw dropped reading this wahhhh đ
Also Iâm trying to do a more bravura (gestural, confident, bold brush strokes) look. it will take some practice but I hope yall are into it ^_^
I never went frilly but there was definitely more pink in my wardrobe in the first year than later.
(The less said about the leopard print skirt, the betterđ )
You should be able to sort by controversial on ao3
But finding criteria that everyone can agree on for which fics are controversial might be, um...
been thinking about elementary again.......... maaaaaaaaaaan............. i miss them
elementary's sherlock goes from actively disliking hugs to awkwardly patting joan's shoulder out of pride to begrudgingly accepting when she impulsively embraces him to standing at their front door and opening his arms so he can willingly accept (but not return) her enthusiastic hug after he's gone on a long trip to !!! being the one to hug HER, to affirm their bond and comfort her, because she is his best friend in the world and he loves her
it's such a clear and consistent representation of their relationship and his growth as a person through all 7 seasons that my ONE (1) and ONLY hope for the finale was that they share a mutual hug AND THEN I GOT IT!!!!!
Is Jaxâs abstraction reversible on The Amazing Digital Circus? Michael Kovach gives his thoughts
I mean, yeah, obviously.
Yeah, which is why im glad they didn't do that in the show.
But in the magical world of fanfics and fan comics all things are possible.
Yeah, there's a world of difference between fanart and fan fiction and telling the creators they told their own story wrong (which seems to be part of what lead to everyone dogpiling Gooseworx).
I mean, it's not really a new thing, even back in the late 1890s/early 1900s, there were people who didn't get the anti-colonial messaging in War of the Worlds, so they wrote an unofficial sequel where Thomas Edison made spacecraft so humanity could go conquer Mars as revenge for the invasion in HG Wells' book.
Yeah, it's a thing.
Collins is gone.
Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.
Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.
All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.
After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.
It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of yearsâfar longer than settlers have been in Canadaâand made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotÄn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.
And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racismâlike Kashechewanâbecause it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.
The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.
Right now, the AFN is currently accepting donations to help Collins First Nation. If you're able to, please consider donating.
ONWA (Ontario Native Women's Association) is another great place to donate to. They have outreach vans going to motels and inns and offering food, water, resources, and cultural support to those impacted by the wildfires.
Other places to consider donating to are Mikinakoos Emergency Fund, Red Cross, True North Aid, Indigenous Climate Action. You can also send donations directly to Whitesand First Nation via e-transfer ([email protected]) and they request that you add your full name in the e-transfer comment section to receive a tax receipt.
*Before sending money, verify that the appeal appears on an official First Nation, Tribal Council or registered charity channel.
If you can't offer financial support, please consider donating items of need. Moontime Connections is currently accepting drop-off donations. If you live in the Thunder Bay area, Namaygoosisagagun Health Office is also taking in donations! They can also bemailed to Superior Inn Hotel & Conference Centre at 555 West Arthur Street, Thunder Bay, ON, P7E 5P8.
items needed are: food, diapers, medical masks, menâs and womenâs joggers (all sizes), childrenâs clothing (newborn to size 14), childrenâs shoes, summer clothing, menâs clothing, toiletries (lotion, Vaseline, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, etc.), strollers, adult depends-all sizes, dog & cat food

Might be a controversial take but I donât think Rumi is as oblivious as a lot of the fandom makes her out to be, and she is DEFINITELY not naive.
Think about it. Yes, she grew up likely very sheltered/isolated on Jeju Island, but also, she was a CHILD STAR. Even if she wasnât performing, she was attending huge events like the Idol Awards with Celine when she was very young, and Celine was raising her to be a pop star. Rumi, who we know is a huge workaholic, has a ton of PR and media training and experience, more than Mira and Zoey combined. You donât get to that position and point in your life without being able to read people (paparazzi, interviewers, journalists, etc) REALLY well. We see her gaslight and lie to Miraâs face no problem in the movie without even breaking eye contact. Yes, itâs obvious sheâs hiding something, but she kept a massive secret from Mira and Zoey for years, and her lying only got bad and really noticeable when her patterns were out of control, she was stressed, and she was starting to see herself (and her heritage) differently thanks to Jinu.
And some of yâall donât wanna hear this, but she was right about Jinu. Despite him saying that he wasnât the guy to help her, that the Honmoon wouldnât save him, she insisted, she persisted, she knew he desperately yearned for freedom and specifically used that to motivate him to sway him to her side, only meeting him one-on-one on her terms after their first rooftop meeting (we see her rejecting his invitations during Takedown, and she makes him go where she wants both other times they meet). Was part of her wanting to save Jinu trauma dumping and self-projection? Sure. But even when Jinu stopped trying to manipulate her (which he really only did in 1.5 interactions at most, and he wasnât even really âmanipulatingâ her at the fan signing, just being a smug asshole and holding what he knew over her head) and told her he wasnât the dude to help her, she still saw and believed he could. And she was right! She was so right that Gwi-Ma literally had to step in and torture Jinu into compliance.
And finally, she single-handedly saved the world. Completely on her own, when talking to Celine, she came to the right realization and reckoning and appeared in Namsan Tower with the perfect philosophy and said just the right things to break Mira and Zoey free. And the fact that Rumi managed to convince the very dude who started the external conflict in the movie to switch sides is fucking impressive.
Bonus: Iâve seen takes that Rumi doesnât know what sex or even a period is and likeâŠ.come on, thereâs NO WAY Celine skipped out on The Talk given what happened to Mi-yeong.
So yeah. Rumi is really fucking smart, and Iâm tired of pretending sheâs naive, oblivious, or helpless.
â”Rumi is be more likely to be oblivious in the, "how much could a banana cost, Michael" way than anything else.
And let's be honest here, Rumi was a child star. She probably went to school with kids her own age (it's a popular headcanon, but homeschool isn't really a thing in South Korea. And actually, the US is really, very much an outlier for how unregulated it is.) She has access to the internet.
She 100% knows what sex is.
Celine 100% had The Talk with Rumi (she will fall on her sword before letting history repeat itself).
Rumi 100% wishes Celine had just handed her a book.
"She didn't leave anything out! I was the most sex-educated kid in my grade and hated it!"
I can picture her at school, listening to kids sharing myths, misinformation, and bad guesses about sex. She gives a world-weary sigh. And then she's sitting in the middle of a circle of rapt kids all five years older than her, giving an impromptu Sex Ed seminar.
I didnât know fondue was a thing outside USAâstupid but i thought it was like, fake cheese that we would melt to dip tiny weenies in. Looked it up and found out itâs Swissâso probably more people than I realized enjoy it! I would love to try a fondue of local cheese, but thatâs not easy to come by where i live. Enjoy yours!
I'm sorry but I am so morally disoriented by the concept of 'fake cheese' that I have trouble focusing on any other aspect of your message. What is fake cheese?? You say that like it's a perfectly understandable and emotionally neutral combination of words. I feel like I've just been handed a koan.
Then you add the phrase âtiny weenies" like it's the logical next step rather than a new psychological event. From my (very French) perspective the sentence "fake cheese to dip tiny weenies in" sounds like such a unique cultural artefact in itself, like a linguistic diorama to be displayed in a vitrine. This is not meant as a negative judgment of you or your country! just my earnest ethnographic confusion as I try to grapple with the concept of "tiny weenies" from a place of "fake cheese" trauma...
I had no idea fondue was seen this way in the USâI thought we (as a species) had a collective working definition of it, a sort of global consensus like the commutative property of addition, so the idea that in some corners of the world "fondue" means âfake cheese to dip tiny weenies inâ has made me remember that you can just flay language off reality like skin. There's also a non-zero chance for this phrase to have activated a sleeper agent in Lausanne and authorised targeted elimination under the AcadĂ©mie Françaiseâs emergency powers.
The concept of fondue now feels violently theoretical but I wish you many delicious ones in the future though :) You have politely disintegrated a couple of foundational concepts I'd never realised I relied on, which is always enriching. I won't recover, but thank you for sending this!

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful
