Beccammendations: Volume 22, ThaiNY
Today is a special Beccamendation: It’s my BIRTHDAY edition! So I am writing about one of my all-time favorite dishes: Spicy Chicken Pad Thai from ThaiNY, my go-to place to order Thai food. Not only is everything delicious, but it is reasonably priced.
ThaiNY is located on 28th & 3rd in the Kips Bay neighborhood. Lucky for us here at Nice Shoes, we are in their delivery range. The first time I ordered from ThaiNY was one of my first weeks working here, about a year and a half ago. I ordered their Drunken Noodles and a Thai Iced Tea, and instantly knew I would be a frequent flyer here.
Why haven’t I written about them sooner you may ask? Well, ThaiNY felt like my little hidden gem. Plus, every time I got my food I was so excited I forgot to take a picture and just dug right in! (As you can see that’s basically the case in this picture as well!).
I am a heat seeker when it comes to the spicy scale - If I’m not sniffling, it’s not spicy enough. I want my Pad Thai as SPICY as they can make it. I love that ThaiNY does not hold back their spicy-ness. For those of you who prefer the more mild spice, no worries, they serve that up just as well.
The Pad Thai lunch special comes with an appetizer, either edamame, Thai salad, chicken dumplings, or spring rolls. Since I have ordered from them so many times, I have tried each one, and my personal favorite is the crispy little spring rolls. Another notable dish they offer is the Spicy Tom Yum Noodle Soup: an extremely generous portion packed with noodles in a spicy tomato-base broth. Perfect for the chilly seasons ahead!
Get to Kips Bay, remember ThaiNY.
