That very Sunday after the two of them had talked about having a sleepover, the did indeed have one filled with blanket forts, popcorn drizzled with caramel sauce and tons of iced tea from the batch that Vanitas had made that morning. Of course, many other snacks had been consumed since the two of them had gone to a corner store to get them when they ran out. For Namine.. it was worth it. Her smile and her happiness were worth much more than his own, after all.After watching a few movies together while actually discussing what’d been going on in the past few weeks since they’d seen each other, he felt a weight on his shoulder that just so happened to be his sleeping friend. A laid-back grin spread across his features. Usually Namine was the kind of girl who just looked like an angel, but the resemblance always struck him harder when she was sleeping. She always looked so peaceful.. Without much effort, the raven picked up the sleeping blonde and carried her off to his bed, settling her inside the blankets while he, too, curled up around her. After getting used to her soft breathing, Vanitas began to drift off to sleep as well……The sound of loud wailing was what awoke him from a dream of adventures with Bartz and his trusty chocobo companion. Golden eyes opened to see the silhouette of his little blond angel with her face in the palms of her hands. The sight nearly broke Vanitas’s heart, and he couldn’t help but wonder what had upset her. "Namine.." he whispered, scooting to her side. "Namine.." he tried once more, but she probably hadn’t even heard him. Vanitas had been through this more than once before, and knew that when she got like this; it was hard to calm her down. The raven crossed his legs and pulled the girl sideways into his lap, gently pulling her hands away from her face so he could used the sleeve of his shirt to clean her tears off of her reddened cheeks. "Namine.. don’t cry.. I know it was scary, but it was just a dream, babygirl.." Like he could even talk.. Vanitas, himself, was often plagued with terrible nightmares that jolted him up at night and worried Axel at times. Although he was getting much better at dealing with them, Namine wasn’t, and he had to watch out for her because of that. "Shhh, baby.. don’t waste your tears on the nasty thoughts, okay?" She was still shaking in his arms and didn’t respond to his statement.. Vanitas leant in to place his lips on her cheek, knowing that such things would help to calm her down. « What was the song he used to sing…? From that one movie..? Right.. he was in love at the time.. heh.. »”Look at the sky, tell me what do you see? Just close your eyes and describe it to me.. The heavens are sparkling with starlight tonight.. That’s what I see through your eyes.." Right.. this was the same song his brother used to sing to him so many years ago whenever the young raven would have a nightmare. The pause for thought only lasted a moment longer before he continued on. "I see the heavens.. It’s time that you smiled.. I hear your heartbeat just go on for miles.. And suddenly I know why life is worthwhile.. That’s what I see through your eyes.." Another pause. Good, she was settling down a bit. Another quick peck to her forehead before going on. "That’s what I see though your eyes.. Here in the night; I see the sun.. Here in the dark; our two hearts are one.. It’s out of our hands; we can’t stop what we have begun.. And love just took me by surprise; looking through your eyes..”Deep blue eyes were already shut and her breathing had gone back to its usual pace. "I see a night I, wish could last forever.. I see a world we’re meant to see together.. And there is so much, more than I remember.. More than I have known…. Here in the night; I see the sun.. Here in the dark; our two hearts are one.. It’s out of our hands, we can’t stop what we have begun.. And love just took me by surprise….. Looking through your eyes…”Vanitas was happy to see that the blonde had fallen asleep once more, and this time, there was no chance she would have nightmares— he knew by experience. Solvei set the blonde down gently on the bed once more and covered her with the blanket he had used before. "Goodnight, Namine," he whispered, smiling to himself as he also rested beside her.
