For digital artists: how many layers does a typical piece require?
Oh man, too many. My method is pretty much: draw. Things going well? Make a copy and start drawing on the copy. Rinse and repeat. I usually do hair or objects separate from faces/bodies just so i have the freedom of erasing without worrying about erasing faces (because i struggle with faces a lot). I usually end up with a lot of useless layers honestly.
What inspires you to not just make art, but to be a better artist?
A lot of the time it’s just. I see something I really like and go OH I WANNA TRY. And then I can’t let it go until I am satisfied with how it works. And I love watching process videos and then I itch to try out what I just saw.
