He's holding both their coffees while Sinjin bends to tie his shoe, and for a moment, the briefest second in time, Aviel's shot back a few years. No gray hair, no bifocals. No white collar. A normal date with two freakishly tall men, going on a walk through Central Park. Coffee. Maybe a pretzel. Or a picture in front of the lemonade stand that's shaped like a giant lemon.

Something as mundane as holding his coffee for him, for the briefest moment... it's a flash of what could have been. It's a hint of the domesticity that could've lingered in his life. But it's gone the moment he sees the other look back at him. Avi's blinking out of it as if he's been daydreaming - and he has - and he grins.

"Don't look at me like that. What, never seen a silver fox staring off into space before, Jin?" He returns his drink to him, and holds out a hand to help him up. "How long do you think we can get for this walk before us old men start wheezing?" A soft nudge of shoulder against shoulder.

the comment was said with little thought it seemed, maki’s gaze looking to be a million miles away. it was hard not to think about the past on nights where she dreamed about her, though, rather it was just a nightmare to torment her she didn’t know.
