okay but what about a fic where scully has been casually seeing someone but the person wants to get more serious and she needs some ~girl talk~ but she refuses to talk to her mom or missy because her mom is too encouraging & missy is all ~but what about fox?~ and scully automatically corrects her ~*~mulder~*~ which is exactly why missy insists on calling him fox but missy won’t actually help her figure out what she’s thinking/feeling. and so, somehow, she ends up talking to mulder and when he asks “is he nice to you?” and she just ~stops~ because … he’s nice to her when it gets him something (her time, dates, sex) but is he ever just ~nice~ to her? not like mulder. nobody treats her like mulder. and down the rabbit hole they go…
