OC of the Week - Nova Shadowmelder

Name: Nova Shadowmelder

Game: Guild Wars 2

Class: Scourge Necromancer

Background: Ash Legion, Sorcerous Shaman, Clawspur, and the Order of Whispers

Fun Fact: She is one of the first characters I created when GW2 came out. I created her in my head as soon as we learned that the Charr would be a playable race.

To Nova, magic is power and she’ll do anything to acquire more. Even in her fahrar, she tended to ignore her peers to practice magic. When finally assigned to the Shadow warband, her isolation grew, and she hardly ever joined the others at the tavern or post-victory celebrations.

She does have a son, Nadir, who is in a fahrar of his own now. The father was just passing through the Black Citadel and Nova never even caught his name. Like most Charr, she doesn’t really have a relationship of any sort with her son. His fahrar is his family. Though she’s informed enough to know that he will most likely be an engineer.

It took Nova a long time to discover which specialty of Necromancy would be right for her. She dabbled in being a minion master, but she didn’t like having them follow her around everywhere. Reaper wasn’t a good fit, either; she hated carrying a greatsword.

But then in the sands of Elona, she discovered the beauty of fire and the power of carrying a torch and dagger. Learning the tools of a Scourge was easy after that.

It might sound like Nova is all work and no play, and you’d be 97% right. Any time she’s not working, she spends with Aurene, the dragon bound to her. There she feels like she can actually relax.
