Day 3 of @cookie-run-rarepair-week - Different AU

Welp- not technically a different AU but rather a different world inside the same AU, but the differences are still there.

I found interesting to draw Pitayantress for this day. Their relationship isn't the "happy ever after" you typically see, but rather something closer to what we have in real life... they argue quite a lot, mainly regarding their children, but it's because Pitaya is a bit more caring and soft, and DE is busy and also puts responsibility above anything else; Pitaya thinks she's putting the lives of the children in danger (which she technically is) and she thinks not. They don't seem it, but they love each other, don't doubt about this! Put they aren't all cuddly and all, it's their rough and tough nature, they don't like to show that much affection, but also- Dark Enchantress new ultimate form is... painful. She's like me, tries to show affection, but hurts the other instead. And didn't even mention that her face stays practically the same, expressionless.

Quite a long post but... it's because this is one of my mains, so naturally there's a lot more to them. Just to clarify to some of you, DE is only squishing Pitaya's cheeks. She doesn't have the intention to hurt them.

♥ so how is your LOVE life doing? Please be complete truthful about this. I'm writing it down for future reference.

His love life is still unexistent. It’s not that he doesn’t want one, he just sees love and commitment as this big and sacred thing and, well...he’s a demon so you’ve gotta take the good with the bad and realize that he’s just not going to find such a thing in another person. Plus, he’s not going to just give himself to just any demon, angel or human right on the spot. Even after knowing Fenrich for a long time, he still feels this weight of a promise and refuses to let himself take much more beyond what they have now...atleast until he knows FOR SURE that Fenrich would want it in the end, as well. Which...Fenrich doesn’t show so well...in Valvatorez’s eyes, anyways. He thinks that Fenrich is just playing the role of a servant and is just using him. (YES. He knows what Fenrich is up to. And he clearly doesn’t care. If you’ve played the game and paid attention, you’d know this well.) 

This same thing could be rolled down with Artina as well. Where as many people think that Valvatorez and Artina were in love at first sight...I can’t agree. Because I get a stronger sense that Valvatorez saw Artina as nothing else but a challenge since she never showed fear. And Artina was just a horny hooker so she just played with him and flirted about...which Valvatorez doesn’t play...especially when he was a Tyrant. Now, do they have something NOW? No. Because Artina wanted to save NEMO regardless of whether Valvatorez was involved in that butthole’s shenanigans or not. And when they do find each other and figure out who the other is, not much changes. Valvatorez sees Artina as a comrade as he does with Fenrich and not very much more. And this might be one of the biggest reasons, besides keeping his promise to drink her blood after she was afraid NOT OF HIM but FOR him during the battle with Fear the Great, he not only feels that he hasn’t fulfilled his promise, he also doesn’t want to take the blood of a comrade.

All in all, he doesn’t want to be alone. He has already been that way during his reign as a Tyrant for over 2,015 years. So, he’s not wanting to return to those ways and end up messing something up from breaking promises to losing his closest comrades by doing something stupid. As a proud and noble demon, he will never admit fear nor will he ever SHOW fear or remorse...but he IS afraid of something.

So, in the end, he sees love as something that should be taken very seriously...and if he was to be with somebody, it’d be for the long run and not as some fling. In his way of saying, ‘I’ve had my fun already. It isn’t as good afterwards as it did when it was happening.’ As any man from a long, long line of years would say and especially one whom grew up in the time period that I headcanon that Valvatorez had grown up in. (1870s) It isn’t uncommon for people to mess around then as they do these days. And that’s not something that he’s into. ‘--for that isn’t what love is.’
