Looking forward to it! Truthfully, your writing is so good, this story doesn't even need romance. I'm not saying you shouldn't continue with your plan to further develop their relationship into something more romantic because I am johndave trash and I will ALWAYS want more of it. I kind of lost track of what I was trying to say so I'm just going to wrap this up by saying Freight is better written than a lot of published works I have read and I'm kind of obsessed with it.

The new chapter of freight was so great! I adored the interaction between John and Jade. I could go on all day about everything I loved but I'll spare you lol. I'm curious about John and Dave's friendship. Will it remain strictly platonic in nature?

I’m really glad you liked it! And I’m really happy the John and Jade scene turned out alright. I was a little apprehensive about that one, haha.

As for John and Dave’s friendship--well, this is a JohnDave fic (as hard as that is to believe at this point), so their relationship will continue to grow as the story moves forward. We’ve already seen a bit of their development, but I’ve never been the best at writing romance (I’m definitely an action and emotional turmoil kind of author) so this is definitely a slow burn type of thing! But it will happen, I promise :3c

Eeee looking forward to tonight's chapter! Homestuck may be over, but it will continue to live on through fan work like yours. Homestuck fan work has always been just as important to me as the actual comic. Maybe some of my favorite characters will never find closure in canon, but I can still look forward to seeing them grow and change and find happiness in the hundreds of different fan works they exist in. Thank you.

Thank you very much! And I completely agree--I’ve always enjoyed fanworks (art, writing, music) as much if not, at times, more than the original comic. The Homestuck community is astounding, and I’ve never seen or been a part of anything quite like it. I’ve met some of my best friends through my Homestuck writing, something that never happened in any other fandom. As crazy as we can be, Homestuck fans are so welcoming, encouraging, and supportive of each other. I wouldn’t be who I am today without them, and by extension I wouldn’t be who I am without Homestuck.

I firmly believe the community will stay just as vibrant and active as ever even though the comic is over. We still have Hiveswap to look forward to, as well as the potential epilogue Hussie mentioned in his note today. I know for a fact that I won’t be leaving, either!
