Strong Boundaries

A healthy relationship is one in which Boundaries can be set that allow for two or more people to understand that they do not serve as problem fixers for one another. Rather, they have the Mutual respect of one another to the extent in which they do not expect for one to fix the problem of the other.

You could easily make the argument that a healthy relationship is that in which all parties take responsibility for their problems. That is not to mean that others in the relationship can not offer support, guidance, or even a resolution from time to time.

On the contrary, the entitlement that one party may have under the guise that their partner should support them to the extent of reconciling conditional problems at all times is the ultimate downfall of any healthy relationship.
