during one of ford + bills meetings; bill tasked ford with a test. a test of loyalty and promise...ford not wanting bill to have doubt and for science (perceived friendfish ???) wanted to do his test; the test was a ritual that bill told him, that'd it'd grant: a charm, a tether, an amp. ford took weeks to prepare the ritual (the harder parts where the peacock shrimp + one-eyed shrimp) and when he completed the ritual, he'd expected a physical charm, not a baby?

also, there is major symbolisms in here, so I'll list down here:"

[Panel 1: The Skull stands with his back to the viewer, fists clenched and shaking, venting a large amount of coal smoke, silent. No text.]

[Panel 2: Scratch and Riker exchange nervous glances. No text.]

[Panel 3: Scratch looks over to The Skull's back worriedly while Riker awkwardly begins to speak, "... Sooo... about that other thing... you wanna hear about that now or"]

[Panel 4: A close up of The Skull's eye, the pupil sharp and bright green. He snaps darkly, "What." A tiny picture of Riker in the bottom right corner says, "K"]

[Panel 5: Riker's hand holds a small dish, in which sits a large computer chip appearing device. He says, "This is called an emotional amplifier. We found this one in Jack's neurocircuits."]

[Panel 6: The pictures invert to white lines on black. A simplified robot is shown with an amplifier connected to its head, the symbol between the upper prongs mirrored in its eyes. Riker narrates, "They latch onto something like a memory or emotion, ramping up its intensity and preventing it from ever resolving or fading. In Jack's case, it seems the lightning tweaked its target, so instead of whatever it was meant to do..."]

[Panel 7: The Jack is shown with jagged lines in his eyes and radiating lines from his head and the amplifier in his head sparks. Riker continues, "... It locked him into a permanent panic attack."]

[Panel 8: The Skull looks down at Riker, who is looking sternly at the dish with the amplifier and mumbling, "No wonder he's testy." The Skull asks, "And the odds me 'n Hare got the same thing?" Riker responds, "Pretty damn high. Might've been installed when Becile wiped Locksmith from your memory."

[Panel 9: The Skull moves past Riker and starts to remove his hat, saying, "Yank it." Riker looks up in surprise and says, "Huh? Now?" The Skull replies, "Yes, now. I don't want nothing like that in my head."]

[Panel 10: Riker looks tiredly after The Skull and asks, "... Can I have a drink first?" The Skull retorts, "Now." Riker sighs. End ID]
