It’s 10 days until NaNoWriMo, and it’s time to panic.
I do have a story in mind. More than in mind. A half-baked outline, LOTS of worldbuilding and character development, a solid grasp on the main conflicts, a project created on the NaNo website, and all.
I just... I’m not sure this story and the entire NaNoWriMo are a perfect match. I mean... the story is big. The story is important. I mean, everything I write is important to me, but this one? It hits a nerve I didn’t know was there until the idea came to me.
So the closer NaNo looms, the more I question if I want to start this story in a mad “30 days to 50K” rush. Because maybe both this story and I deserve a different approach, a slower, more thoughtful one.
But then, if I decide this story and NaNo aren’t a good match... what do I do for NaNo then??? I really want to participate, but with what?
Because I do have some plot bunnies, but they’re all just that: plot bunnies, a few sentences or a paragraph for each, a “what if,” but not a story. There’s nothing I can imagine having a good grasp on in 10 days.
At the same time, I really, really don’t want to miss out on NaNoWriMo.
WHAT DO I DO.
