5th day for the apprentice week from @thearcanaweek
The Background is from The Arcana
4/19: FAMILY: What was their family like?
Omen’s family is only composed of his twin sister who he holds very close to his heart, you can almost say they are soulmates. He always placed her before him, protecting her of everything since she was born with a weaker body, not being able to handle the great magic living inside of her. They had a wild and dangerous life before getting the sweet little shop.
They didn’t get any signs / news of their parents since a long time, so they don’t really know if they are still alive or dead.
For @thearcanaweek The Apprentice Appreciation event! I walk in late with Starbucks. The prompt was “Name”.
Rating: G
Pairing: The Apprentice/Dr. Devorak
It was a quiet night. Julian was reading a book resting his back against a wall sitting in Ivy's pillow fort. She was laying across his lap doodling a picture of a dog she saw earlier that day.
"Who is G. H.?" Suddenly Julian asked staring at one of the pages.
"Hm?" Ivy lifted her head up and stared at him. "Oh, that, heh..." She trailed off going back to her doodling.
Julian squinted at her then closed the book and shifted a little, forcing her to sit up. "It appears that I have found some sort of a secret." He smirked looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Like you don't have enough of your own, Ilya," she stuck her tongue at him. "Mister 'I Am Wanted for Murder' Devorak"
"My secrets are dangerous. Yours appears to be just embarrassing," he propped his chin on his hand looking amused.
"You're terrible," she scoffed and rolled her eyes. "If you must know as a child I was really into flower meanings." She swallowed audibly and licked her lips shifting uncomfortably. "So I was looking at various plants and what they mean. I also wanted to be a famous artist and live a double life or something."
"A creative child," he threw in leaning back again listening to her story. "So what's with G. H.?"
"Yes, well... Ivy, in general, has a meaning but you know, an artist needs a pseudonym to hide behind. I wanted to be clever about it so I found Glechoma hederacea. It sounded really posh to a seven-year-old. So there. That's the secret."
"A ground-ivy, huh?" Julian tilted his head at her. "You know it has many medical uses?"
"As well as culinary ones, yes I know," Ivy nodded. "I did my research."
"What does it mean then, in flowers language?" he asked.
"Nothing. I mean ground-ivy doesn't have any meaning on its own," she shrugged fiddling with her pencil.
He tilted his head and raised his eyebrows in a way that she knew he wanted to know more. With a sigh, she continued. "A regular Ivy means friendship, fidelity and," she cleared her throat, "marriage."
"Ah," he agreed clearly having fun with making her squirm a little. "All the characteristics that describe you perfectly." He joked and she scoffed.
"Thanks." She picked the sketchbook thinking the conversation was over.
There was a moment of silence as she started drawing again, while Julian stroked the covers of the book for a while.
"Would you like to get ma-mph!" He was about to ask her something when suddenly he was stopped by a pillow smacking him in the face. "Oh, that means war."
Ivy grinned at him. Perfect distraction! She grabbed two more pillows while he armed himself and the chaos ensued. Some questions need the proper time to be asked.
Apprentice Week Day 3: Who’s their One and Only Soulmate?
~Asra!~
Kaia fell for Asra the moment she saw him, he had an air about him that she just adored. As she got to know him she fell into a passionate love with the Magician. Even though he wasn’t her first love, she had never experienced anything like their relationship. The few times that she did see him was pure bliss.
After loosing her memory, she’s cared for him as long as she can remember. The years as his apprentice made her feelings come more with him. A part of her feeling like she shouldn’t feel such things for her master, but the draw was too strong. After Asra left right before Nadia came to her, she realized how much she really cared for him. With his absence this time and the sudden speed at which she was thrust into her own adventures made her miss his soft touch even more.
~Others~
I unfortunately haven’t played any of the other routes yet, so it is very probable that I may add other “soulmates” per say for Kaia based on routes, but Asra probably will always be her true soulmate. I love their relationship way too much, and I feel like Kaia would always be drawn to the “destined lovers” route.
