No, but the thing is that even after Haymitch went through ALL of that, every moment of terror in his games, every terrifying mutt, every bloody, awful death, even after he watched for decades first hand as kids got killed in twisted ways, he was still going to go into the arena to save Peeta for the quarter quell.
He was in worse shape than Peeta, has arguably a better understanding of just how awful the Capitol’s horrors are, and could have easily just said “no way, whoever gets reaped gets reaped”, and instead he was truly 100% going to go back into the arena if he got the chance. He KNOWS Snow would love the opportunity to kill him painfully!!!!!!
I think it’s a huge testament to not only his love for Peeta, but also to his absolute bravery. This is a man who has lost everything due to the games, who is years past his prime and would probably be going through alcohol withdrawal while in the arena, and he was still willing to do it. Incredible.
