Chapter 2: The Assault
While Zuko and Katara were giving each other’s back, fire nation soldiers jump out and grabbed Zuko, tied his hands and covered his mouth. So they took him to General Benng.
Katara started running after they took him. Most likely didn’t want to stop because a soldier told her he and the army were to harm the group.
I better hurry up to camp. Katara thought to herself.
“How was i able to do that? That soldier threatened me, and i wouldn’t do anything else. He was going to hurt Aang and Sokka and not Toph! Wait… Why not Toph?”
Her mind stopped when she reached camp because Sokka was arguing with everyone, even with Iroh.
———————
“What is going on here!?” Katara shouted. Everyone quieted down. They all kept staring at her as if she was a ghost. Then Sokka ran up to her and hugged her as if he had not seen her in many years.
“Hey! You’re alright!” Sokka told her.
“Yeah, why? Did you think i was in some kind of danger or something?” Katara said chuckling.
“Well, yeah… hey, where’s the spoiled scar face?”
“Don’t call him that!”
“Ooohhh! Someone has a crush on the Fire Nation Prince.”
“I don’t!” Katara said while blushing.
“But you’re blushing!”
“STOP IT!” Aang yelled with jealousy.
Sokka and Katara stared at each other as they heard the Fire Nation soldier leader come out and drop an envelope in front of Katara’s feet.
“That’s only if you want him back,” the leader said. Then, he drove off.
“Don’t worry, kids. I know where he is,” Iroh said.
———————
“Get me out!” Zuko scram out to General Benng after he took the handkerchief off his mouth.
“And why would i want to do that?”
“Because nobody would want to come for me because they don’t like me.”
“Oh really?”
“...”
“How about that water tribe girl? She likes you.” Zuko blushed when he said that. “So it’s true?”
“No…” Zuko breathed in a serious tone.
“Don’t lie to me, Zuko. You don’t have to. I know everything that has happened between you and her.”
“What are you saying old man?”
“Aw. Now the spoiled brat doesn’t know what I’m talking about.”
“STOP CALLING ME SPOILED!!!! I’M NOT!!!!”
Slapping him, the General screams, “Shut up! Now you sound like a 12 year old. Well back to my point of view.”
“Remember when you were fighting her and her friends on your ship?
“Remember when you found her mother’s necklace and you returned it to her while she was at the river water bending?”
How does he know that?
“Ah! The reaction in your face tells it all! You gave it to her, but thanks to the avatar.
“You just wanted her to notice you. Ah, come on now! Don’t hurt yourself! I -“
“Shut it… just leave…”
The General chuckled, cleared his throat and said, “Alright then.”
As the General was stepping out, Uncle Iroh shot a lightning bolt onto the wall.
“Leave my nephew alone.”
“I was about to.”
“We should have waited a bit longer; o-or maybe Aang could have airbended a hole or maybe- “ said Sokka before being interrupted by Iroh.
“Just leave it boy! We get more action than just trying to rescue him. We actually get to protect him!” Iroh said while chuckling.
Iroh looked at his nephew and both smiled. Zuko thought that they wouldn’t care for him, but for what his uncle said, he knew they did.
“Now, are we just going to stand here in fighting pose or actually fight?” Iroh said.
“Right,” Aang said. “Get him!”
“Ugh… just leave it to me,” Toph said.
Easily, she just earthbended a cage-like; no bars, solid walls, 3 ft thick.
“There,” Toph said dusting off her hands. “My work here is done. If you need me for anything else, just gimme a call.”
“Uh… sure, Toph. Thanks,” Aang said.
