I started making a new thing on Friday- an apron dress from an independent company called "The Assembly Line"
It was a printable pattern that I bought because WAITING is hard when I have the energy to do something RIGHT NOW. Waiting results in energy atrophy I've found.
It looks like this:
and it's made up of like 6 parts. I was able to cut the pattern and half finish the dress in about 4 hours, which is probably a long time for more experienced / faster sewers, but for me that was like....super quick. It only requires 2 snaps or buttons, fabric and iron on interfacing, so it's 100% a good starter pattern.

I have an Airtable with my patterns, my fabrics, and my queue.
I try not to jump the queue too often. I also try to look at the queue anytime I’m tempted to buy another pattern, more fabric.
The first three boxes are in various stages of complete:
Project #1: The Stowe bag. This needs the dreaded binding. I cut my own bias strips because nothing else matched nicely. The horror of pressing them and then pinning them and then sewing them has been putting me off since September 2019. I should just contract it out because. honestly, I’d love to have that bag available.
Project #2: The faux Persian stole. I loaned my real Persian stole (100 years old now) to a friend and noticed a spot where the hide is deteriorating. In a rush, I made a new one and cut the faux fur too close to the selvedge at one spot. So I’m adding braid around the edge. I expect conference calls to be good for finishing this.
had quite a bit of the fur left over. So I made the muff from this Butterick costume pattern. I should have made a slit pocket in the side seam, but botched the spatial relations.
Project #3: The Strand coat. Almost done. The top hook is wonky and should be reset. The waist pockets need some stay stitching. The hem and sleeve ends are undone. I don’t have any seam binding to finish the insides.
I’m pretty happy with it. I plan to make a second in a fine wale corduroy.
Project #4: The Assembly Line Cap Sleeve Dress. I traced it in both the small and medium because I don’t know which is the right size. I am also not sure which fabric to go with--the wool or the twill. Perhaps the muslin will help me decide.
Box #5: Vintage Vogue 7167. I like the idea of using the plaid rayon/linen for it, so I will also run up a test for it as well, to make sure it fits all right.
