I finished the Mock Up!
OMG I can sew so fast and so good! I'm the best at sewing. I'm a sewing GOD.
Anyway, in other news, I finished the mock up for the Dawn Jeans (I'm not adding the waistband on the testing pair because I feel very confident in that) so... here are the pictures:
I do have to make a small adjustment to the back - as seen in the butt image - about a half inch on each side of the yoke to compensate for my slight sway back. The Tapered Leg won - it's the one on the LEFT of the images, but right leg IRL - its a lot more flattering for me.
It ATE thread for top-stitching, and that is going to take the most time on the actual real pair because you need to swap out threads a lot on this pattern - half the steps are "then swap to normal thread" ever other line.
However, this pattern was described as 3/5 for difficulty and I didn't have any issue, at ANY point with these. In fact, I'd honestly say I FLEW through this pattern. Not including time taken to trace the pattern, and cut it out, the actual MAKING of these took like... 4 hours yesterday and 2 hours today. 6 hours to make a pair of jeans. That fit me perfectly. That look nice! That I WILL ACTUALLY WANT TO WEAR!!!!
I'm feeling sooooooo good about myself right now. Not even my soft chubby belly on the internet is bringing me down. I made a fucking pair of jeans, baby!
I feel like this is currently the best dress I've made thus far and I am so happy with it. this shade of pink is absolutely perfect and I wish that I had bought more of it when I found it. I think I could have made several other cute off the shoulder looks. hopefully I'll find it somewhere.
Pattern: Vogue V9345 view A
Edits: I did not have to make any fit changes to this pattern which was cool as heck. I did add a little cuff to the ends of the sleeves to create this bishop sleeve look and it worked out exactly like I pictured it in my head.
Fabric: I bought some cheap cotton broadcloth at Joanns to line this. I found the cotton eyelet at some shop in the Los Angeles garment district. I didn't line the sleeves because I wanted a nice little breeze on my arms sometimes.
Fit: I really enjoy the fit. I don't have a well fitting bra so I do wind up adjusting my boobs infrequently but I like how it hugs my midsection and flares out at the bottom. It's super cute with a fluffy petticoat underneath.
Thoughts: Love love love this dress. I've made two so far and I plan on making several more. I don't understand how this misalignment happened in the skirt portion but I cut it to be even before hemmed it.
Also Iām so happy about how this seam lined upš„¹
And I got to use these buttons for my stash !!!!!!! I donāt even remember where I got got them but theyāre beautiful!!!!!

Iāve been looking for ways to use up smaller pieces of fabric, so I made a patchwork apron. I quite like how it turned out. Iām thinking of making more for the etsy shop.
What do you folks think? Each apron would be unique since theyād be made from whatever suitable pieces of fabric I have on hand at the time.
This one has a tailoredĀ ābodiceā, a slightly flared skirt, adjustable neck strap, and two big pockets.
