There’s this article called A Boy Named Humiliation: Some Wacky, Cruel, and Bizarre Puritan Names which feature wonders such as

I didn’t even know Barebone was a puritan last name, but now that I do, I’m starting to think that Credence wasn’t even that odd of a name if one of Mary Lou’s possible ancestors had names like these. 

Also, apparently Credence is spelled
