My October watches Part 3. I watched a couple of stinkers like Monster from the Ocean Floor, She Walks the Woods (the monster is a baddie though), The Black String, and Shelby Oaks. Even though the previous films are objectively worse than Shelby Oaks I was let down by Chris Stuckmann's debut film. I hope his next film is better. Spookies was a fun watch, Cult was fine though it's no Noroi: The Curse, Oddity was awesome and hands down the scariest thing I watched all month.
I enjoyed George A. Romero's The Amusement Park where a poor old man has the worst day of his life at an amusement park and The Spiral Staircase was a great and moody proto-slasher film. When Evil Lurks is a bleak and gory thrill ride but its in-universe rules and inconsistency with them broke my immersion a little. Debbie Does Damnation is a surreal and trashy experience that hybridizes live-action/claymation with dialogue that feels like it was written by a teenager going through an edgy phase. Horror Express was a banger go watch it. And lastly, I had to finish strong and watch a bonafide classic like Predator.
