Controversial opinion: I don't like Rosalie
Calm your tits and let me explain.
She's boring. I understand her reason for being in the series in the first place. Rosalie is an important character. Without her Oscar may not have realized her own privilege's until it was to late. Rosalie is a window into the life of the 18th century average person.
But she's boring. She had such a good set up as a young girl ready to fight the world to avenge her mother. As opposed to Oscar, who's been raised to be masculine, Rosalie could have been badass but not be traditionally masculine. But due to readers at the time not liking her, she was written out twice (or so I've read).
She leaves because of blackmail the first time. And we don't follow her journey. Then she marries the guy with mommy issues! Rosalie could have done so much better.
Also her crying got in the way for more character development for Oscar. I don't hate the character. I just wish there was more to her or GTFO. Feel free to discuss with me.
But maybe I'm asking to much from a 1970's manga lol
