Transcript of Auror Fortescue’s next-of-kin interview with Natasha James

Interview started at 2:28 PM. 

Alice Fortescue: Hello Tasha, thank you for agreeing to speak with me. This shouldn't take too terribly long.

Tasha James: Of course.

Alice Fortescue: Now Alastor and the higher ups want this done as by the books as possible. So to start I'm going to need you to state your name and relationship to Edgar Bones.

Tasha James: Natasha James. He's my... Boyfriend?

Alice Fortescue: Thank you, when was the last time you spoke with Edgar Bones?

Tasha James: Two days ago. Before he left for work.

Alice Fortescue: Was this at your home?

Tasha James: Yes. The flat we share

Alice Fortescue: Did he say that he had any plans after his day at the hospital?

Tasha James: No. I figured he fell asleep in his office again. He's done that a lot lately.

Alice Fortescue: Of course.

Alice Fortescue: Do you know of anyone who may have wished to cause harm to Edgar?

Tasha James: I don't know much about your world, to be completely honest.

Alice Fortescue: Of course, of course.

Alice Fortescue: Has he mentioned troubles with anyone lately?

Tasha James: No. I... We haven't had much time to talk, with our work schedules and everything...

Alice Fortescue: Now I believe the two of you recently returned from Paris?

Tasha James: Yes. It was a wonderful trip.

Alice Fortescue: And how long had you been home before Edgar went missing?

Tasha James: Over a month?

Alice Fortescue: And has Edgar seemed different since you returned from the trip?

Tasha James: Not really. He was working less for a little, but then he went back to his normal 80 hour week.

Alice Fortescue: [Redacted]

Alice Fortescue: I'm sorry- I'll have to strike that from the record..

Tasha James: It's okay. It's nice to know how loved he clearly is.

Alice Fortescue: Of course. Tasha, I have no other official questions for you, but if you can think of anything at has been strange in the weeks before he disappeared, even if it was just something mentioned in passing, or something you noticed that seemed off about him.

Tasha James: I don't really know. It's so... I don't know what to do.

Alice Fortescue: All you need to do is take care of yourself, take care of Nessa, and take care of Ed. You're doing all that any of us can expect. We'll get them, we are working night and day to get them. You just need to do what you've been doing.

Alice Fortescue: If all the next-of-kin that I spoke with were this level headed my job would be a walk in the park.

Tasha James: I want to help. I need to help.

Alice Fortescue: You are helping, help by staying with Ed. Make sure he takes care of himself.

Tasha James: I'm not going anywhere...

Alice Fortescue: I didn't think you would

Tasha James: He's my world, you know? I just didn't realize it.

Alice Fortescue: I think I'm just starting to understand what that means. He's going to get through this, I promise and we're going to get the [redacted] that did this.

Alice Fortescue: Pardon my french.

Tasha James: I need him to get better. You find who did this and I'll...

Alice Fortescue: I know.

Alice Fortescue: If you think of anything else later here is my card, and you know how to get a hold of Alastor.

Tasha James: Thank you... for all that you're doing.

The Bones Case | Louis Fierder

Timeline

Mid June 1978

Natasha Bones (spouse) approaches Alastor Moody (head auror/friend of the family) after several days of no contact with the victim. (Thread) Auror Moody responds with a standard patronus search. No results. Natasha Bones and Vanessa Bones (daughter) are set up in a ministry-approved safe house. Auror Moody leads the subsequent search for the subject. 

Probable last contact:  Dorcas Meadowes (Colleague)  Frank Longbottom (Acquaintance) 

Evidence of a struggle is found outside the back-entrance of St. Mungo’s Hospital. Foul play is confirmed. Deatheater M.O. 

Late June 1978. 

A three day investigation leads to an abandoned house in the suburb of London. Victim is found in the basement, showing signs of heavy torture, both mental and physical. Victim is taken to St. Mungo’s immediately. (Thread)

Auror Fortescue conducted interviews with healer Meadowes (Thread), auror Longbottom (Thread) and Natasha James (Transcript). 

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Meadowes interview will be continued by auror Moody at a different time. (Thread) 

The following interview with healer Meadowes took place a few days later. (Thread) The interview revealed little new information, outside of a suspicious sighting of Janitor Louis Fierder, in conversation with the victim (confirmed last contact). 

At the annual charity picnic at St. Mungo’s, auror Moody informally approached Fierder in regards to the attack. Fierder engaged auror Moody physically and attempted escape, which was thwarted by auror Fenwick (thread). 

Louis Fierder was taken into custody on charges of assault of an auror and suspected kidnapping and torture. He was interrogated by Aurors Moody and Fenwick. (Thread)
