Arthur Weasley: Brother-he is-was my little brother
Amelia Bones: Were you two close? Did you speak often?
Arthur Weasley: Yes usually-not lately. It'd been about two...two months. He's been busy with the championships coming up and I've been busy with uh-the twins
Amelia Bones: Besides the Championships were you aware of anyone or anything else in his life? Major Milestones, any troubles?
Arthur Weasley: Eleanor-er, her last name is a bird of some sort? Pretty. She's his fiancé. A-and I think his contract was just renewed with Puddlemere
Amelia Bones: Eleanor Hawk. Did you notice anything off about their relationship, or what you know of it?
Arthur Weasley: No-Merlin no. I mean they fell in love a bit fast and I told him he was too young-but he pointed out the hypocrisy in that-didn't listen. She was at each of his matches-only met her a handful of times myself.
Amelia Bones: Speaking of matches, you mentioned that he was renewed for his contract. Did you ever hear of any trouble regarding that? Jealous players, other offers, anything of that sort?
Arthur Weasley: I mean he got into a few times with fans-he and that Bagman fellow did beat each other up once but they made up pretty quick over a couple of pints-Dave always rooted for the wasps anyway when he was little. And no other offers, or none that he took. Puddlemere was good to him-and
Arthur Weasley: He was happy there. Truly.
Amelia Bones: Is this Ludo Bagman? Any reason why he would get into it with him?
Arthur Weasley: Normal stupid drunken thing. A pissing contest. Their teams are rivals or whatever-or were-I can't keep up with all that quidditch business
Arthur Weasley: I don't know why you're asking me all this, Amelia. You know who it was
Arthur Weasley: They found his mark. Alastar told me.
Amelia Bones: As of right now the investigation is open and we need to follow and all leads. Do you know of any previous relationships that David Weasley had? Or anyone that he was particularly lose to besides his fiance?
Arthur Weasley: Well he screwed Alice, if that's what you mean.
Amelia Bones: ....Alice Fortescue?
Arthur Weasley: I believe the term used was fling
Arthur Weasley: He also dated that girl on the Harpies. Gwenog Jones. I liked her
Amelia Bones: Do you happen to know if this was arepeated "fling" or a once occurance?
Amelia Bones: Gwenog Jones- the Harpies player?
Arthur Weasley: Not sure. Not even sure if they actually did it as I don't like to think of my friends or my brothers in intimate ways. And yes. Gwenog-they ended amicably-I think she was the one who ended it-too messy with Quidditch politics.

Alice Fortescue: Hello Tasha, thank you for agreeing to speak with me. This shouldn't take too terribly long.
Tasha James: Of course.
Alice Fortescue: Now Alastor and the higher ups want this done as by the books as possible. So to start I'm going to need you to state your name and relationship to Edgar Bones.
Tasha James: Natasha James. He's my... Boyfriend?
Alice Fortescue: Thank you, when was the last time you spoke with Edgar Bones?
Tasha James: Two days ago. Before he left for work.
Alice Fortescue: Was this at your home?
Tasha James: Yes. The flat we share
Alice Fortescue: Did he say that he had any plans after his day at the hospital?
Tasha James: No. I figured he fell asleep in his office again. He's done that a lot lately.
Alice Fortescue: Of course.
Alice Fortescue: Do you know of anyone who may have wished to cause harm to Edgar?
Tasha James: I don't know much about your world, to be completely honest.
Alice Fortescue: Of course, of course.
Alice Fortescue: Has he mentioned troubles with anyone lately?
Tasha James: No. I... We haven't had much time to talk, with our work schedules and everything...
Alice Fortescue: Now I believe the two of you recently returned from Paris?
Tasha James: Yes. It was a wonderful trip.
Alice Fortescue: And how long had you been home before Edgar went missing?
Tasha James: Over a month?
Alice Fortescue: And has Edgar seemed different since you returned from the trip?
Tasha James: Not really. He was working less for a little, but then he went back to his normal 80 hour week.
Alice Fortescue: [Redacted]
Alice Fortescue: I'm sorry- I'll have to strike that from the record..
Tasha James: It's okay. It's nice to know how loved he clearly is.
Alice Fortescue: Of course. Tasha, I have no other official questions for you, but if you can think of anything at has been strange in the weeks before he disappeared, even if it was just something mentioned in passing, or something you noticed that seemed off about him.
Tasha James: I don't really know. It's so... I don't know what to do.
Alice Fortescue: All you need to do is take care of yourself, take care of Nessa, and take care of Ed. You're doing all that any of us can expect. We'll get them, we are working night and day to get them. You just need to do what you've been doing.
Alice Fortescue: If all the next-of-kin that I spoke with were this level headed my job would be a walk in the park.
Tasha James: I want to help. I need to help.
Alice Fortescue: You are helping, help by staying with Ed. Make sure he takes care of himself.
Tasha James: I'm not going anywhere...

Tasha James: He's my world, you know? I just didn't realize it.

Timeline
Mid-june 1978
After a thursday-night Quidditch training, the body of David Weasley was found on the Puddlemere United Quidditch pitch by its janitor. It was displayed underneath the floating green snake-skull known as the ‘dark mark’. His body bore the marks of heavy duelling and the word ‘bloodtraitor’ had been engraved on his chest. The dressing room atrium bore similar signs of an extended struggle.
Weasley was likely attacked by two (possibly three) individuals with ties to the pureblood supremacist society known as the Deatheaters.
Preliminary examination of the body shows the mutilation of the victim’s body was performed post-mortem and the cause of death was a killing curse to the chest, as executed by a skilled witch or wizard with experience in using unforgivables.
Possible reasons for the murder include Weasley’s vocal opposition regarding pureblood supermacy, relation to a pureblood family largely considered to be ‘bloodtraitors’, and his recently optained fame within the Quidditch and magical community.

Head auror Alastor Moody conducted an interview with a source that wishes to remain anonymous. The subject of the interview was the possible deatheater involvement of the so called ‘sacred twenty-eight’’ - prominent pureblood families - many of which are already under investigation. From this interview arose serious accusation regarding the Carrow family, currently consisting only of Amycus Carrow, heir to the family name and fortune, and his twin sister, Alecto Carrow.
The Carrow family has not been under ministry investigation as of June ‘78, this in spite of the siblings being known associates of Maya Zabini and Cassiel Avery. Zabini and Avery have previously been investigated and arrested for suspicious and violent activities, though they were never prosecuted.
Zabini, Avery, and the Carrow twins are notoriously close, a tight and protective circle to which only one other individual has been granted access: ministry employee Regulus Black.
In addition, Amycus Carrow recently produced and submitted for cursebreaking, a dangerous dark artefact. This case was handled by auror Alice Fortesque. (Thread) Before this a cursed artefact was also found to have originally belonged to Carrow. (Thread) This case was also handled by auror Fortescue.
Given these facts, there is reasonable suspicion regarding the Carrow siblings, which must be investigated.

The following interview with healer Meadowes took place a few days later. (Thread) The interview revealed little new information, outside of a suspicious sighting of Janitor Louis Fierder, in conversation with the victim (confirmed last contact).
At the annual charity picnic at St. Mungo’s, auror Moody informally approached Fierder in regards to the attack. Fierder engaged auror Moody physically and attempted escape, which was thwarted by auror Fenwick (thread).
Louis Fierder was taken into custody on charges of assault of an auror and suspected kidnapping and torture. He was interrogated by Aurors Moody and Fenwick. (Thread)

Course of action:

Prewett reports his observations and findings on possible torture victims (subjected to the Cruciatus curse, possibly more). All victims were marked with a similar mark in their necks and all appeared to have a possible partially erased or modified memory.
Upon reporting these findings to his superior, Oliver Daury, Daury dismissed them as false. Daury threatened Prewett’s job should he continue his investigations or reveal his suspicions to anyone.

First account: Mrs. Keizer reported having walked down Parker street, to get to her apartment, but later swapped it with Fleet Street, a road leading her away from her apartment.
Second account: Mrs. Keizer recalls walking home from a night store, to her apartment. Mrs. Keizer was found, however, at the store after the attack.
Victim 2: Mr. Roders. 26 years of age. Muggle. Married to Mrs. Lodeim. No children.
First account: Attacked after leaving work.
Second account: Attacked after going to work.
Victim 3: Miss Peggy. 26 years of age. Muggle. Single. No Children. Was attacked before going to pub with acquaintances but recalls being in said pub and having fun with said acquaintances.
Victim 4: John Berry. Elderly. Muggle. Widowed. Attacked while walking his dog. The breed of the animal changed per account. (3)
Victim 5: gentleman. 41. Muggle. 2 stepchildren. Attack could not have fitted in his daily schedule (punctual)
Victim 6. Mrs. Fawkes. 37. Married. 1 child. Could not tell whether her son or her daughter had been home with her during the attack.
All victims are convinced they were found/returned home the same night they disappeared, but witness accounts contradict this by stating they were gone for entire days.
Theory: Illegal memory spell/charm experimentation disguised as torture/death-eater activity. Second opinions on memory modification and torture are needed.

Prewett and Moody set out to acquire second opinions from healers Dorcas Meadowes and Edgar Bones, respectively.
