Just started watching Reign and this is definitively what The Buccaneers is modeled after ohhhhhh — equally trash and anachronistic in wild ways lmao

LORD AUSTEN’S ARCHERY COMPETITION At Hyde Park

It has been said that anyone who considers themselves well rounded must have the critical skill of archery. It is an essential sport for all to know as such accuracy can determine the difference between survival and failure, and none is more fitting to determine such things than Hyde Park (rented out by Lord Austen for all to take part). Things are not so dire and nowadays such sport is normally for those wanting to show off their fine form, blurring the lines between proprietary and shameless flirting, though be warned, Lady Whistledown has eyes and ears everywhere.

During this event, there will be a range of tasks for your characters to take part in. The latest fashions will be shown off as others take part in the main event. Target shooting is for all to partake in and there are magnificent prizes up for grabs. The winner will have the choice of £10 (the equivalent of £786 today), a request that the Queen has to fulfil or the hand of none other than Princess Sophia. 

If you do not want to compete, there will be other activities such as browsing the latest fashions from the different modiste’s in town, play an easy game of bowls or enjoy a leisurely picnic but be careful not to set up near the target shooting! There will also be food stalls and gentle horse rides as well as refreshments kindly offered by Brook’s Club, with ice cream on offer from Eisdiele’s Ice Cream Parlour!

No matter what you choose to do, if you compete in the Target Shooting, winning, and choosing any of the prizes could alter the course of your character! Do they dream of rising above their stations, adding land to their depleting properties, whatever they ask, the Queen must oblige (within reason, she won’t change things like the current lines of succession or major plot points). Towards the end of the event, the winner will be announced and will be decided through a random name picker. The more threads you have, the more times your character’s name will be entered! The prize is a choice between a request of the queen that she has to fulfil, gold or the hand of the prince/princess (the players choice to agree or not to the match)

This event will run from 10th July 2025 to 25th July 2025 and all posts must be tagged  theton;event and theton;archery  and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! Please don't start any event threads until 10th July.

started bucaneers s1 and im about halfway through. Kinda love that every single man is disappointing and/or menacing because that's just so true, isn't it? Like of course you can't trust a single man in your life, and that's not your fault or silliness--that man acted the way he wanted because he will never care about women the way women see and are about each other. Like truly, women only have each other, and only women will lift you up and dust you off!
