headcannon time// SPOILERS FOR The Last Knight UNDER THE CUT
so it was talking to some of my peeps and had this terribly awfully good thought about Canopy from the new bayverse movie.
Canopy, as we all know, died. But what if, before that, he was getting slowly fixed by Izzy? She found him turtled like that with a nasty helm wound, and started to fix him. He couldnt really move (lack of energon and all that) so he stayed put and protected her to the best of his ability. He couldnt remember his name, or his faction, so he let her name him. Thus, Trailcutter became Canopy. After all, what other mech would have a ‘forcefield’ to keep all that rock together, and a sturdy enough frame?
Over the months, he would talk to her, swap stories, trying to figure out who he was. All he knew was he was happier when hewas being useful, when he was protecting someone weaker than him, and that he would go down defending the one slowly fixing him.
He was the one who started to translate Sqweaks, who then begain to teach Izzy how to understand Cybertronian (there was no way shewould be able to speak it, but atleast she could understand it). He, in essence, adopted her.
In the end, right before the end, maybe he remembered who he was as his spark was guttering out, small flashes of his past going through his processor, and he wanted to thank Izzy for being one of the only ones trying to keep him alive. He may have died as Canopy, but the mech he used to be was proud of who he became.
I was spinning through the air when I thought my life was ending.
But I was really on the ground, and you were right there next to me.
I looked right into your eyes, and I found myself pretending
That we were high above the canopy, but tethered to the trunk of a tree.
This song reminds me of @kais-house, and it’s really nice.
The Canopy - Angela Hunt
This was one of the first Angela Hunt books I ever read, and it’s still one of my favourites!
Neurologist Dr. Alex Pace is desperate to find a cure for the rare inherited brain disease that killed her mother and grandmother, that is already taking its toll on Alex’s mind and will one day do the same to her 10-year-old daughter. Her research takes her to the Peruvian rainforest with a team of scientists, but their canopy explorations take an unexpected turn when a native from a previously unknown tribe shows signs of not only having the disease, but of having been cured of it. And so the team makes the trek into the uncharted depths of the jungle to discover the secrets of the miraculous healing tribe known as the Tree People.
Adventurous and richly beautiful, with explanations of scientific and medical concepts that make me feel smart, and descriptions of jungle flora and fauna that are both fascinating and savage. At the heart of it is the intersection of the natural and spiritual, that true healing doesn’t come from simply treating physical symptoms but from putting your faith in the Healer.
Cloverdrop and Sugarfern, the medicine cats from the canopy!
Baby warriors from The Canopy!

Slow down, take time, and see the forest for the leaves I know that I should practice what I preach
