the corporal and I have a sort of symbiotic relationship where he leads our small (frequently three-man) platoon in battle and makes all the decisions for us and miraculously fixes all of our musket problems and in return the second we get off the field I go “do you need help, corporal?” and find myself having to help him get his shoe on or untie his canteen and haversack from where they have irreparably knotted together or pull him out of a hole in the grass after he drinks his ninth beer of the night, which he found on the ground

re: heart shaped 18thC items. I have been trying for months to convince the corporal that we and our friends need to make matching heart cartridge boxes. because we love each other. but his most cis man trait is that he is staunchly against this for some reason. because he hates us

genuinely touched that the only reason my friend can think of as to why people would possibly clock me as a girl when I’m in 18th century soldier’s kit is “I guess because you’re so small” thank you corporal I think it goes deeper than that but I appreciate this vote of confidence
