“You done?” Louis grunts once he has the breath for it.
He doesn’t look at himself, can’t risk it even when he feels the tickle of blood rolling down his arm from the scrape. He’s not alone in bloodshed. The iron cuffs have gouged deeply into the other man’s wrists during this idiotic attempt at escape. Louis narrows his eyes at the alpha and considers his options.
“Bounty said alive, but it said nothin’ about the state you had to be in otherwise. I ‘aint feeling like dragging your ass across the plains, so don’t make me have my horse shatter your ankles.”
Styles gives no implication he’s heard him, but he doesn’t lunge for Louis again either, so that’s answer enough.

When Louis takes on the job of getting Harry on that train, he's got no idea how much his patience and everything he thinks he knows about the world is going to be tested.
