Althea Gyles (1868–1949), 'A Knight and His Lady', ''The Dome'', #3, 1898 Source
What a pleasant surprise!
(Justice League Europe #30)
Edinburgh Christmas.
Idk how many tadc fans have read "The Dome" by Stephen King, so first let me educate you.
So basically this entire town has been cut off from the rest of the world a la giant fishbowl that couldn't be destroyed with literal missles. (We later find out that it was a bunch of otherworldly children who were doing it for shits and giggles but spoilers shhhh) The book then goes on describe the hierachy of power and the inner dealings of the town and how everyone is coping with the dome situation. Eventually, everything goes to heck and only a handful of people are left alive. One person decided that the only thing to do was to go up to the beings that trapped them there and beg. One of the children asks her why. Why should we let you go? You're not real. And the lady screams "we are real" and there's this slideshow of all the pain and suffering that were caused by the survivors and were done to them. The child pities the survivors and lets them go.
All of this to say that I think that would be a neat ending to tadc. To have one of the circus members beg to be let free. To scream that "We are real!" (I'm personally imaging Jax here because the irony). And Caine is very much like the children here. He doesn't really know the difference between right and wrong but maybe a slideshow of pain and suffering can show him that his circus members are real. They have their own little lives outside of this digital prison and it's time that they got back to it.
