2nd thought, upon waking up in a top-half-cold sweat:

Mai and Joey are still estranged after YGO DM. She marries Seto for money, material security, and rare card access. He marries her for social standing, like how any star will marry a supermodel, and need someone to take care of a kid to take over after Mokuba, and Mai seems sufficiently cold to not bother him. Joey sad, then mad, but also confusingly even more sad. Mai admires Seto, but pines after old flame. Seto was content with the idea at first, but reality is starting to bother him, making him feel things, both good & bad. Mai and Joey tentatively, & secretly, meet to catch up, & it's so heavily flirty, but they wistfully part. Seto arranges his own secret meeting with Joey, he will not be denied, and opens up to coming onto him hard. Joey: *softly, but with his mouth on his* "What the fuuuck..."
