There are few things in this world that I have such a petty hate towards more than open-concept homes.

Like who the FUCK wants to walk into a house and go “yup that’s the whole downstairs”. How do you paint the dining room blue and the kitchen yellow if it’s all one room? What if my green stand mixer and green Keurig clash with the front curtains? I cooked fish, whole house now smells like fish. Can’t escape the seafood stench. Family comes to visit; my dad likes to watch The Boys. There’s some fucked up sex scenes in that. I don’t want to see that across the whole fuckin house. I don’t want to hear that across the giant room either.

WHERE DO YOU EVEN PLAY HIDE AND SEEK IF EVERYTHING IS OUT IN THE OPEN?!

Like there’s no private or quiet corners where you can escape family when it gets overwhelming. And I don’t want to go upstairs away from everyone in case Grandma decides to reorganize the pantry. What if my sister is bothering me? There no other room to go sit in. It’s just ONE BIG ROOM AND EVERYONE IS UP IN YOUR BUSINESS

Open concept SUCKS and all the sounds will echo and I WILL DIE ON THIS MOLEHILL.

And then upstairs laundry rooms and windowless bathrooms are also a pet peeve b/c Mildew but that’s less extreme petty hate and more pet peeve

🟨 The 3 Connections

Throughout the album COWBOY CARTER (and RENAISSANCE), you noticed that they have different connections. CC has radio, Renaissance has TV/Newspaper, but what is the 3rd connection? To me, it seems like the 3rd is digital media (hint hint). Think about it, one of the ongoing themes of the 3 acts are the past, present, and future. So it makes sense that act 3 is more futuristic.

🟦 The Echoes 📡

Some time ago, I did research on echo and the military phonetic alphabet popped up, and I noticed the word/alphabet letter e is for Echo. The slang echo can reference online spaces or radio. Also, in the military, it's used as communication (which I'm thinking of doing a theory on the different types of phonetic alphabets she uses but alas) to bring clarity through radio transmission. So this is getting me to believe that they're (different technological systems) all communicating in different ways with each other from different places (the small western town/her house and Echoville are connected. Also, I think when you hear the echoes at the end of "I'M THAT GIRL" and "MOVE" something/someone is communicating with us.

• On the song, "I'M THAT GIRL" , someone is saying "Let me out, oh Beyoncé!"

• On the song, "MOVE", someone is still begging and pleading to get out.

Also, interesting that the ALL UP IN YOUR MIND poster sticker design is similar to the radio tower on Radio Texas advertising sign...
