Max didn't really know what he was doing here. One minute he was sent on a mission to check suspicions of 'time traveling building' the next Kane and Reyes ran off to go have a 'super secret higher up conversation' (if you asked him about it, they were probably making out in a broom closet somewhere). And this guy pushed him into an elevator and won't stop whining on the phone.
"No Mommy, you don't get it. He's literally trying to poison me."
Max was about two second away from punching this guy in the nutsack.

The elevator jerked with a concerning crunch.

Just as he feared, the lights flickered once, twice, then left them in the dark.
"Mommy? Mommy? Hellooooo?"

Max watched with horror as the Mommy's boy turned toward him, almost in slow motion.
"What did you push!? Ugh! Right when I was getting to the dramatic part," he whined.
