"The Emmys are reducing the number of categories awarded during the telecast to create more leeway for musical performances, comedic bits, and unexpected acceptance speeches." - Variety
Literally the opposite of what hard working industry peers want or the public wants to see, but okay...
Sigh.
I’ll make him an emmy myself
By now we all know that award season is mostly just shit and mainstream surface level nonsense getting shoved down our throats, so it’s not really surprising that anything more complex than a ladida glamorised ‘love’ story is put at the bottom of the pile (or lower).
However, as someone who tends to spend hours on creating something and put most all of my energy into I gotta say it still sucks ass when the work isn’t recognised.
I mean at the end of the day you don’t create the thing for recognition (at least not the people I follow) but because it means something to you, but still when you end up being nearly completely ignored that shit still hurts yknow?
White actors/actresses getting recognized and lauded for their mediocrity....I mean, what else is new right?

a knight of the seven's nominations across the technical and art categories makes me so happy because the show feels very season 1 game of thrones- bit of a low budget, smaller sets, but still beautiful and effective and ultimately very fitting for the hedge knight stories (and the waning targaryen dynasty). that being said, I wish the actors got in! peter claffey and dexter sol ansell were amazing breakouts!
