New band spawned from members of the Field Effect and The Box Tiger leading off with a good single with some solid hooks. Definitely worth a download.

Most of the time, this is a list of the Best Concerts I, myself, Attended. However this year I’m cheating…or maybe just evolving depending on how you look at it. This year it’s The Best Concert list. The Concert of the Year is one I didn’t actually attend, but in my humble opinion it was the music event of the year. Easily:
1. Nirvana Reunites (4/10/2014 Brooklyn, NY)
For the first time since Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994, the members of Nirvana Krist Novoselic, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear performed Nirvana music. It began with their induction at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Barclay Center. Michael Stipe inducted them and after taking the stage with Courtney Love and accepting, the members performed 4 Nirvana songs with Joan Jett, Lorde, St. Vincent, and Kim Gordon.

But it didn’t end there. Later that night, the members did a surprise show at Saint Vitus Bar nearby and performed close to 20 Nirvana songs with Jett, J. Mascis, St. Vincent, John McCauley and Gordon. The concert was filmed, but there’s been no announcement of a release yet (I plan to buy it the minute it is).

While Grohl, Novoselic, and Smear have performed together over the years, this marked the first time they did Nirvana songs together. An Epic Moment that showed their songs still stand the test of time!
