Paint the town rad by THE GALACTICOS

The Galacticos are a belgian band. They do the smaller festival circuit here, playing slightly better gigs than 'Their mom's basement'. They're known, but not famous. And I think that's a damn shame. They had a hit with Humble Crumble a while ago, but I think they must be running low on their Groupie-supply by now.

Playing their own flavour of... Dammit what DO these guys play.

Rock, I guess, would be the term. But that feels like a cop-out genre description. They waft around. From the more bluesy Hangman to the almost Britpop-like Sunny side up, all the way to the giant shoutout to Early-90s-Indie that is Pie On Ears. It's Upbeat poprock, s what it is, that's what I'm calling it anyway.

So: Paint the town rad, an album which on the title alone should've sold a gazjillion copies, and a coupe gazjillion more for the music that's on there.

Na hun spacy EP ‘Phone Home’-avontuur zijn helemaal terug van weggeweest! ‘Aunt Mary’ is hun spiksplinternieuwe single die een voorgerechtje is van de eerste volledige plaat ‘Paint The Town Rad’. The Galacticos brengen highschoolrock met catchy deuntjes en aanstekelijke gitaarrifs. Hun ‘Phone Home’ werd op zeer mooie recensies getrakteerd. . De singles ‘Humble Crumble’, ‘He said, She said’ en ‘I’m with my girl’ kampeerden stuk voor stuk in de cd-speler van Studio Brussel. Hoog tijd voor een nieuwe plaat dus die beter en misschien zelfs ook een tikkeltje volwassener klinkt mede door producer Pascal Deweze (Broken Glass Heroes, Sukilove). ‘Paint The Town Rad’ is een met een sixties sound doorspekt album, boordevol catchy riffs geworden.
