Been hearing a lot about "dark fantasy" these days, so I think it's high time I share my whimsy spectrums.

(Many apologies to my Discord friends who have already saw this)

I have a VERY specific personal definition of whimsy, and if I ever read, watch, or play something I deem "whimsical", it goes through these three spectrums in my brain.

Notes:

Something must be considered "whimsical" before it ever reaches the spectrums. As such, if others wish to use the chart, it is completely objective.

The questions under each spectrum are not the de facto questions to ask, but more like a guide to however my brain processes these categories. They're spectrums, after all.

Hi, I recently had this great idea for a story and I’ve talking about it with some good friends and I’m really hyped to start writing it, but I can’t seem to bring myself to start. Or I’ll start writing, go only a paragraph, and then stop for 2 weeks. How do you stay motivated to keep writing?

personally, this is how I stay motivated. once I’ve started a new draft for a project, the graph compels me to keep writing everyday until I’m finished. it’s really not a method that works for everyone, especially in the longer term, but it works really really well for me. I can only really say what I do for this, I’m not really sure what other people do.you could always give it a go and see if it will work for you too?
