going more and more insane about Pyro. there's so many layers to his pov...

thinking maybe he was always meant to be this. because this is what people have viewed him as for a long time now; and why else would this come so naturally to him?

on the other hand, desperately wanting to have the choice that was never given to him. not only did he not want to be turned - you could say he was the only character who had no idea what he had just gotten into. and that was the second time in his life he got pushed into horrors without warning. so he wants the possibility to go out there and live the life he chooses for himself, even if it means losing his family. again. because he has always had to fit his life around other people's perception of him anyways. and running away might just seem like the only viable option once again.

but then, you also have that notion of inevitability. vampirism is inevitable (everyone in Oakhurst is gonna be turned eventually, he better make it easier for them than it was for him). Scott is inevitable (the moment he tries to run away again, Scott will just catch up to him anyway. so he might as well make it easy for himself this time.)

and that's not even getting into all the different ways Scott has manipulated him, putting all the plame on Pyro instead of himself.

so many themes of (lack of) choice and blame and being robbed of autonomy...

Pyro desperately trying to keep hold of some agency, trying and failing to choose his own path, then falling into loyalty again out of fear... his own opinions and morals getting crushed by the pressure from all sides, until he can only repeat what he has been told...
