Sherlock Holmes The Hackney Horror by William Meikle
Rating: ❤️❤❤❤❤
I love Sherlock Holmes so I never miss the chance to read a good Holmes pastiche, this was not a good pastiche, this was possibly one of the worst books I have ever read. Thankfully it was a novella, just over 100 pages, so didn't take long. Why I continued to the end I don't know. The author has written several more of these "weird Sherlock Holmes adventures" (the authors words not mine), but I definitely won't be reading any more of them. Also, this was the best picture of the book I could find, it really is accurate because the cover of the book is actually badly blurred. Also, a bugbear of mine, Holmes is pictured wearing the Inverness Cape and Deerstalker whilst in the city, despite the Sidney Paget illustrations, Holmes would not wear that whilst in the city, it was reserved for country cases. Let's hope my next book is more fun.
