Dear my friends,
I’ve always searched for a good way to somehow convey this feeling. [It’s] called twisted and mocked as stupid¹, but I believe it to be a really wonderful thing… I wanted someone to hear these unchanging feelings of mine.
I found it². It’s to keep yelling with all my body’s might, as much as I can. To recklessly stand in front of the mic, no matter what. Each time I enter the stage, my energy rises up, and with my ears ringing, I let it out³.
At last, I have found where I belong.
My place…
I don’t really know what I can achieve or how high I can soar from here. But, in the same rhythm⁴ as always, my body and mind will be gently floating in the air.
Little by little, I can see the answer more clearly. I bet one day I’ll laugh and show you.
On my own stage, I’m always fighting to see how much I can be myself.
This self-destruction circuit, I guess it’s only a tale of someone like me.
I wonder where my friends are
Tusk
TRANSLATION NOTES
¹ it’s not clear from the context whether he means beating himself up, someone else saying it to him, or something that's generally believed. literally that part is just “being told it’s distorted/perverted/warped, being cursed at/verbally abused/insulted as stupid”, i’m not entirely sure how to interpret it. he’s talking about the feelings and thoughts he wants to express, so perhaps it’s just that they’re considered weird or he’s embarrassed (lol)
² found it = found a way to convey the feeling(s)
³ he’s using the same word as before, 伝える except he writes it as 伝たえる (convey, communicate etc), so he again means expressing the feeling(s)
⁴ the word used here usually just means manner, but it’s also tone, pitch or rhythm. i wanted to preserve the double musical meaning
[i purposefully leave the translation a bit awkward in some places, because i don’t want to forcefully interpret anything and Japanese is often very vague. thanks for reading and please let me know if i misinterpreted anything!]
