The Hexpert - Re-Review #20
“I can stabilise the reactor from the inside.”
No... you can get yourself trapped in with it to be 100% correct. Yes, welcome to Hudson University - home of genius.
But now, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... what a silly mistake to get yourself locked in a vault. But it’s okay, Parker can break into a high-spec, brand new vault with a hairpin in less than two hours!
A Parker centric episode! About time we got something a little like ‘Vault of Death’. I mean, we didn’t get to see Lady P drive (yet), but we did get to see Parker’s... checkered past in action again.
I just love that line because you can kind of tell he won’t enjoy the charity gala.
Love that too - you don’t have to lose the good guys, Parker.
“Its not you we need. It’s Parker.”
“When hit comes to this, hI’m quite the hexpert.”
I don’t think Lady Penelope likes not knowing...
“I’ve brought an expert who will have you out of there as soon as possible.”
“Ello? hI’m the hexpert.”
He went right up close to the camera too! That’s such an older person’s instinct, not really realising you don’t need to be quite that close.
“Last time hit was han ‘air hunder six ‘ours. hAllegedly.”
I love the constant drop ins of ‘hAlledgedly’.
“hIce pick, chalk, car mirror, staples, rubber band, chewing gum, magnets.”
Take note everyone, this is all you need to pull off a great heist. Public duty for the day done, tick.
“Let’s face it, I’m stuck here.”
Yeah Professor! This is Thunderbirds are go, remember? No one gives up.
“I’ve got that part covered.”
“It’s nice to know Parker’s not the only expert on the case.”
Virgil’s really grown in self-confidence since ‘Recharge’. He’s saying things with much more... I can’t think of the word I want right now and that’s just so typical. But yeah, he’s just grown, and he’s like on par with Scott and Scott takes orders and... Recharge was such a great episode to still be able to see the effects of that rescue on these two.
Of course he has music to drive to, of course Parker does.
“Hmm. Well it certainly is distracting.”
Good thing it doesn’t distract Parker from driving, ey?
I hope the people of the world are grateful to Parker. I mean literally, this episode will have ignited so many sparks I’m sure. First this show decides to teach people about mental health (yay), and now we’re teaching everyone how to break into vaults and lift anyone’s fingerprints from an old water bottle with chewing gum (yay)! I mean, there are many, many reasons to love this show.
Yeah... that kinda means, don’t drop anything onto the vault...
“Did what I think just happen actually happen?”
“You mean did the houter doors just slam shut, trapping hus hinside? hI’m hafriad so, M’Lady.”
“Well that’s very distressing.”
Oh well... Like the Lady said;
“They never counted hon ha good hold-fashioned bump hand twist.”
Hmm... I wonder if that’s where the Jeff Tracy fix came from?
“Twelve minutes, Virgil.”
Hey no one panic, he’s worked with considerably less and pulled of miracles. Anyone remember yesterday’s rescue for instance?
“Remind me hof my seafaring days.”
“Pirate, Ma’am. Back when hI was hon the wrong side hof the law. hI’m not proud hof my past, you know.”
“That was a long time ago, Parker.”
“You’re Father gave me ha second chance haway from ha life hof crime. hAnd ‘e trusted me to protect his most valuable possession. You, M’Lady.”
“You’ve always lived up to his trust in you Parker.”
Yeah he has, I mean, just look at her? She’s awesome. Definitely should have been in the safe-cracking, crime fighting business. All that aside, this was a really lovely moment, giving some explanation to the connection between Lady Penelope and Parker and why it goes beyond the simple confines of a relationship between a Lady and her Butler. It was quite beautiful really.
“Get out of there, Scott!”
You don’t have to tell him twice.
“hOh dear, hI forget my lucky kit.”
I love that the loss of the chewing gum is such a big deal to Parker. That’s the sort of thing we can expect from someone ‘hold-fashioned’ like him.
“Sorry, M’Lady, just ‘aving ha bit hof trouble letting go.”
Scott leaning against the fire place as well... tut-tut.
Of course Virgil likes dogs too.
But still, advantages to everything right, Parker? You still got your chewing gum back, and you missed the big event!
“hOh, hI’m so disappointed!”
“I thought you would be.”
I will always love that ending.
