2024 vs 2022
There’s a lot of things I loved about ep6 of tbobf it truly was an incredible episode but I have to talk about how crushed I am about Luke and Ahsoka. They are two of my all time favorite Star Wars characters and I was so disappointed at the hypocrisy and restriction they placed on grogu and his attachments. Coming from both of them it just made me feel livid. Like really?? Ahsoka isn’t even a Jedi and Luke abandoned his own training to save his friends/father.
Even worse was Luke placing the armor Din gifted him, and yodas lightsaber in front of Grogu and telling him he had to make a life altering decision and could only choose one. First of all, how dare you. Din made the armor to protect grogu because he loves him and was even willing to leave it behind without seeing Grogu, trusting that it would get to him. Why has it been made into some dramatic “if you choose the indestructible armor your dad gifted you you’re giving into attachment and you’re out of here!!!!” It’s like “he’s not a CHRISTIAN!!!!” But with Jedi.
Second he is a baby! Is Luke forgetting he’s a baby? A baby with a very very long life ahead of him. He will outlive both Luke, and Din, and basically every other individual he forms a bond with. It’s normal for children to form attachments and he’s going to be a child for a while! Not only that but he’s a child with a lifetime of struggles and trauma, do we not think it beneficial that he has a consistent steady adult around who he loves and trusts? Losing people is inevitable and expecting him to never form any attachments in his entire life is unrealistic. It just seems smarter for Luke teach him how to manage his attachments in a healthy way rather than try to sever them all.
And finally, are we really going to undo the entire plot of the mandalorian season 2 in one episode? Was Din’s whole purpose and mission not to return Grogu to his kind? Did he not place Grogu on the seeing stone and allow him to choose if he wanted to become a Jedi? And did Grogu not then reach out to Luke? We already did this why is Luke making him choose again? Grogu obviously wants to learn to use the force but not at the expense of losing his family. Regardless of what he chooses he looses. He’s also so much safer with Luke than he was with Din, Din literally just wants visitation rights like come on is he really asking for that much??
I just hope grogu chooses the armor and while Luke is returning him to Din he ends up becoming Din’s darksaber instructor and has some eye opening experiences and a character arc that wakes him the fuck up. (There’s some wishful thinking for you lol) I mean the origin of the darksaber is a Mandalorian who was also a jedi, it’s possible for grogu to find that middle ground.
Really I was just devastated seeing Din within viewing distance of Grogu and being told his presence was detrimental. Are we just going to ignore the fact that Ahsoka considered Anakin her brother and was there literally visiting her nephew??? That Luke would absolutely have stayed close to his father if he had the chance?? That Luke most definitely keeps in touch, and probably has visits from Leia and Han?? Disney made me hear Din say “I came all this way, he’s right there” and I’ll never emotionally recover.
Basically I grew up watching Luke Skywalker and fell in love with his kindness, compassion, and pure lighthearted optimism. If he spends the entire series being a lofty, exalted Jedi type who stands to the side and rattles off random Jedi proverbs while monologuing about attachments (or in any way resembles his characterization in The Last Jedi) I’m going to scream. Luke is not perfect nor has he had enough training to make him a confident master, he’s just doing his best with the weight that’s been placed on him and I need to see his more human moments like we got to see in the original Star Wars movies. I need them to be gentle with his character and not fuck this up pleeease. Luke is creating a new Jedi academy, and therefore has all the power for what that means moving foreword. Let’s not repeat past mistakes. There’s so much potential for them to do amazing things with his character and I hope they take advantage of that.
so why does raven forgive murphy for everything he’s done to save his own ass but won’t forgive clarke for everything she’s done to save everyone BUT herself???

Paul is calling Michelle a cunt, called Natalie and Michelle bitches, and apparently made a comment about Natalie sucking James’ dick to the top.
Where the fuck all these beacons of social purity that were dragging Natalie at to write some essays on Paul’s misogynistic behavior?
