Lovin life @ Made in America Festival this past weekend.
3 DAYS til we're immersed in the magic.love.music.bangin vibes of ELECTRIC FOREST, couldn't be more excited.
I am most amped to see Medicine For The People, their songs have beautiful lyrics and messages, the frontman Nahko has a angelic voice and the rest of the band plays fun instruments like washboards and trashcans. Plus they bring dat aloha vibe which I have always appreciated :)

Embrace tonight's new moon! FULL moon, new beginnings...how will you open yourself to the opportunities the cosmic energy is presenting us? The five of us plan on spending the evening writing down the things that no longer serve us/what we wish to release from our lives and burn them, offering them out to the universe to open up more room for loving energy and positive experiences. So often people hold on to things that only hinder them from reaching their true potential, so honor your inner light and release! The possibilities are endless...
Hangout Music Festival
So this weekend I checked out Hangout Music Festival in the Gulf Shores of Alabama. Had such a wonderful time with three of my best friends in the world. I was SO excited because my best friend since 6th grade, Dina, came along on the adventure, experiencing her first ever music festival! I was so glad that I got to share this experience with her since going to festivals and seeing live music has become a life style of mine.
We drove 11 hours to Alabama from Florida, which was LONG, but it could have been a lot worst so I am definitely not complaining. I have never been to Alabama, but the Golf Shores was super lovely. It had the vibe of Pt. Pleasant/ Seaside, NJ (for all you jersey followers who know what these beach towns are like). The festival was on the beach/ boardwalk and the weather was so beautiful for all four days. Dancing around in the sand to GREAT music is exactly how you would imagine it to be, FANTASTIC.
There were so many good artists playing at the fest, some of my favorites being Kings of Leon, Stevie Wonder, Tumbleweed Wanderers, Trey Anastasio Band, Jim James, Bauuer, & Dillon Francis. The best thing about the festival is that there was such good chillin music, as well as some dirty beats to add to the funk. I saw some artists that I have never seen before, Holy Ghost! & The Revivalists being two, which were mad chill.
Honestly, I am so thankful that I was able to experience this festival, especially with the people I was with. My eyes were opened up a lot, which tends to happen almost always when I see live music. Over the past few years, I have experienced such an array of festivals & I will NEVER get sick of doing it. Every single one has a unique vibe, differing from the people who attend it.
Music festivals are all about enjoying what I love most, MUSIC & GOOD PEOPLE. Music is such an influential part of my existence. It has molded me into the person that I am and how I go about life. It is always there for me, just like an old friend. It stimulates my mind & inspires me to be a better person.
Music festivals shouldn't be all about getting "fucked" up, but uniting & connecting with like minded individuals who love music just as much as you do. It honestly gets me high, without even being high, feeding off the vibes of the people around me and meeting new people. The friends I have met through this scene are all incredible and have in a way become my family. Through going to so many festivals, I have come to realize that all I want to do in life is make people happy, just like music does for me. I want to open people's minds to how wonderful life is ALL of the time. I want to show them that love is the most important aspect of life and that you should give, receive, feel, & create love at all moments.
During Stevie Wonder's set, he said something that really hit home with me. He said, "Fuck the haters, cause they're all a bunch of bullshit." AMEN! This is the main revelation I had at this festival. His words reminded me to never let anyone get into my head. We each know who we truly are and we CAN'T let anyone lead us off of our destined paths, especially when they don't even know who we are soulfully. Take Stevie's advice and always be yourself!
I love each & every one of you.

“You can be the most beautiful person in the world and everybody sees light and rainbows when they look at you, but if you yourself don't know it, all of that doesn't even matter. Every second that you spend on doubting your worth, every moment that you use to criticize yourself; is a second of your life wasted, is a moment of your life thrown away. It's not like you have forever, so don't waste any of your seconds, don't throw even one of your moments away.”
