Bu kitabı yayın evlerinde bulamayıp uzun süre sahaf sahaf aramıştım ama nafile.. Nelerden sonra bir hanımefendi kendisinde olduğunu söyleyip üstelik hediye olarak göndermişti. Bir o kadar da kitaplığımda demlenen, ara ara göz göze geldiğimiz bu kitabı sonunda elime alabildim.

I went to the MOST AMAZING cafe yesterday, it's called "The Lampshade" and it's about a 2 minute walk from EMU'S college of business. Let me tell you, that place is fantastic. I walked in and the beauty of the place hit me like a ton of bricks. I'll have to take pictures later and show you guys, it was just stunning. Large canvas paintings and other pieces of art lined the walls. Crystals, books and small sculptures were strewn everywhere, and local artists set up little shelves to sell their wares. (Plus, they have gender neutral bathrooms. It reads "be who you are" on the door :3) But their drinks? Their drinks were amazing! !! And get this, YOU GET TO PAY WHATEVER YOU WANT FOR YOUR DRINK!!! You could pay 25 cents, you could pay $25.00!!! The owner calls it "an experiment in capitalistic socialism." It really does a lot for homeless persons in the ypsi community. Also, they host all kinds of community events! Yoga, open mic nights, poetry slams, kids shows, meditation sessions, drag shows, you name it! So if youre ever in the ypsilanti area, stop by The Lampshade! You won't be disappointed ;)

also! to Ypsi folks - new community cafe

Lampshade, which is across the street from the Ypsi downtown library/b-24.

it’s a pay-as-you-can cafe, the first in the area that i know of.

it’s got a super cool vibe (think pillows across the floor for resting in, art everywhere, collective canvases to work on, etc)

they’ve got a cd donation drive too (one where you can put any cds you have in the bin, and someone will pay the lampshade $1/each for them).

they were playin’ the beach house depression cherry album when i was there last night.
