No miracle tech needed: How to switch to renewables now and lower costs doing it

A new system could result in a 63 percent lower annual energy cost worldwide.

That's a $61.5 trillion dollar expense to transition the 145 most-carbon-heavy countries to wind-water-solar-battery storage by 2035, for the majority of power usage including cars, and it'll pay off within a decade in terms of lower generation costs. Plus jobs.

And avoiding controversial tech like carbon capture, nuclear, bioenergy, natural gas, fossil fuels, or blue hydrogen.

So this confirms to me that, absent political pressure or personal nostalgia, carbon power systems are on the outs. It's the economically rational thing to do, so it'll probably happen.
