Blood
And soul
Light
And dark
A depressed
Optimist
As pale
As energetic
It is
The colour of magic
The colour of love/lust
The colour of the skies
That lie underneath us
The sunset
The sunrise
The seas
And the seagulls
The tears of the stars
The smell off the grass
The kind of feeling
When a new era starts
Cared by few
Seen by most
For no one takes the effort
To notice the lost
Mistaken with death
Mistaken with life
Waiting for someone to say
No sharp edges tonight
Melt two into one
Melt the Moon in the Sun
Melt the Skies in the Ground
Melt the brain
In the heart

The Last Draft: A Novelist’s Guide to Revision - Sandra Scofield
This little book is a good hand guide for how to write (and actually finish) that first draft of a story. As a writer who has admittedly had this issue for years, I found this book really helpful. I had honestly kind of given up on finishing my book at one point (sorry to all you family and friends who have been waiting for it), but just the introduction of this book made me energized and motivated and ready to finally not only tackle the story again but to finally finish it.
Which, on that note, never skip introductions by default. I always at least get a few pages into them. If it seems pointless and boring, okay, I admit, I sometimes skip them. But it is more often that introductions are helpful, like this 28pg springboard to jump into the book and start to work on and finish editing your story, no matter what the length is.
Definitely a must-read for any other aspiring authors.
