Ohhhhhhh MY god. Been thinking about the Lizards again and. I cannot BELIEVE I never considered Extinction avatar Amaldyne. Like. It is Perfect actually??

Obsessively terrified of the end of the world and actively working to stop it. It is her greatest fear and highest aspiration and she would do ANYTHING to prevent it.

Eventually ends up as a world-ending threat herself, ushering in what's essentially an apocalypse to prevent the world from being burned to a fucking crisp.

Spends basically her whole story slowly falling into Hunger, a primordial force destined to ultimately consume all of reality so that a new universe may be born. She hates it and fears it and it destroyed her life but it suits her and sings to her and she's willing to use the power it promises to suit her own ends.

Rules over the ruins of her world, trying very very hard not to succumb to the ever-growing part of herself that wants to devour everything that remains.

Ugh. Maybe I'm just stupid from staying up too late but dammit the Extinction SUITS her!! It WORKS!!

The funny thing about Amaldyne and the Overseer that I think about sometimes is how INCREDIBLY similar they are. They have similar backstories. They're both charismatic, intelligent leader figures. They both view the people around them as Enemy, Tool, or Special Beloved (a position only ever occupied by one person who is still also a tool). At a certain point they end up as the two strongest players on the board in a battle for "which hellish nightmare world will everyone else be stuck in?" and the winner is the one who can manipulate and account for One Guy the best.

Class is starting but maybe later I'll go on the full rant cause these two drive me up the walls I love them so much.
