It often starts with an incredible break. When https://soundcloud.com/themarv discovered Ilaiyaraja's Vikram, she was blown away by the many grooves of this multi talented artist. For her third EP, she wanted to pay a tribute to his works from great 70's, 80's and even 90's indian movie scores. So she started digging again, carefully selecting breaks and melodies from this extremely prolific composer who was given the title of Ragadevan (King of Tunes). Each sample would be like a unique spice to her special ginger soda recipe. So here's the blend : Heavy beats, hip hop with some house twists, big analog bass, oriental breaks, and some secret ingredients that she only knows about. You'll be surprised by the maturity of the works of this young female beatmaker, who mastered the boombap science in only a few weeks Beware, you may experience psychedelic hallucinations: spicy audio sensations, wild animals popping here and there, pastel colors and voluptuous oriental fragrances.
