I know that Bandcamp is an enormous chasm of music. Still, I can be a bit shocked that on a site that boasts over 100,000 records bought (I'm sure that's digital and physical combined) daily that something this good can go unnoticed.

Matt Earley (aka The Delicate Delegate) is a Cleveland, Ohio musician/label and "How Do You Like Your Eggs?" was his 7" released in 2019 when he was living in Madison, Wisconsin.

The sidebar on Bandcamp states, "Lo-fi by default". This does recall bands like The Mice, Guided By Voices, and Cotton Mather.

It looks like this 7" was self-released. Earley now runs Gotta Groove Records and is more of a producer, but he's left this record of his prowess as a songwriter and musician (he plays all the instruments on this 7").

ok so the space mice have been on my mind for a while and I’ve decided that the fact that they all called them mice was far too much of a cop out for me considering everything else got cool names (except kosmo ig but ignore kosmo) (ignore also the lions)

basically as it stands I’ve made a general group and then divided it into specialised sub species (of which Allura’s space mice are now the only extant members)

they’re not my best sketches but shhhh it was late. The sukis were small, rodent like creatures that inhabited altea and mostly foraged for seeds and berries, often enjoying the nectar of the juniberry flower during the blooming season

there were at least five distinct species; the largest, the caped suki, known for its aggressive territorial displays, the reedtail suki, known for its disproportionately long tail and its posturing, the cave dweller suki, with its plush coat and poor vision, the pond skater suki, a freshwater lake inhabitant and the lightest suki, and finally, the common or beach suki, also called “mice” due to their pitchy call.

The suki that survived alteas destruction by first sneaking aboard the castle and then wandering into the cryopod with allura are five beach suki. They come in a variety of colours, most commonly ranging from rusty oranges, through yellows and greens to tealish blues.

the mice are inside the blog and i can't afford an exterminator to get them out so i'm just gonna put poison everywhere, okay guys? be careful and don't eat anything you see around the blog. I might set traps too, so watch out for that. <3
