It had been a week since the kids’ major breakdowns but because of that they seemed to be able to get many things off their chest. Finally, they both seemed to revert back to almost normal after many talks throughout the week about it and constant reassurance that they were not being replaced. Unfortunately for the expecting miko, now that she didn’t have to stress over her kids as much her unpleasant pregnancy symptoms began flaring up. She wasn’t getting good sleep at night and she seemed to be puking every morning. That’s why she agreed to stay home with the kids while Inuyasha went to town to talk to Miroku and deliver some herbs to Kaede for her. After promising to take it easy, the reluctant hanyou had left, promising not to take long.
Kagome sat up from folding the clothes she had washed yesterday. Hikari had managed to get her robes muddy when she played too close to the stream yesterday. Her eyes drooped as she did some housework, her senses barely alert as she yawned. Once Inuyasha came home she’d ask him to watch the kids while she tried to fit in a quick nap into her day.
Hikari watched her mother curiously from outside where she used a stick to draw pictures in the dirt. She noticed how Kagome moved around slower and seemed more sluggish than normal. She wished she could do something to help make her mother feel better. Frowning, she scrunched her eyebrows together, racking her brain for the most brilliant plan to lift her mom’s spirits.
She remembered yesterday that her mother had mentioned wishing they hadn’t run out of berries. There were some in the forest...she could go out and pick some for her! The idea was so simple and so great she didn’t think twice and ran as fast as she could on her two little legs towards the forest, planning to be back before her mom checked up on her.
Tila had been sleeping for awhile now, longer than she would have normally when she was feeling good. It had been a few weeks or so since she had rescued Tails from that evil cave place. A few weeks since she had been confronted by Hershey and told that she might be pregnant. Might have another living being inside of herself. She had yet to tell Taoshi what she had been told, she hadn't really been feeling up to it, and Hershey couldn't have been right! She had to just be sick, or at least that's what Tila kept telling herself.
Since Taoshi had found her, he hadn't let his eyes off of the starlit yoshi. So Lighty had been just the thing. Taoshi needed to get out for a bit, and it made Tila's heart flutter to know that she was alone for once, with nobody telling her not to leave bed, or not to go outside. The stars. She needed the stars. Pulling herself up, Tila groaned and got out of her bed, rubbing her eyes. She had been woken up by Taoshi and Lighty's bantering, and when the door had closed, she was fully awake, gathering the strength to pull herself up.
Tila hadn't really been out of her bed in awhile, let alone out of her blankets. She had them on whenever Taoshi was near her, so she had succeeded in hiding her enlarged stomach from him, and he had been too worried about her health to notice such small details. Pulling it around her body, Tila slowly headed to the door, looking out to make sure that Taoshi and Lighty had gone before heading out towards her favorite spot, covering her head from the light of the sun, as it seemed to almost hurt her.
~
Tila was surprised that Taoshi hadn't come after her yet, but she was also glad. The sun was finally falling, and the darkness relieved her, gave her more strength than she had felt in weeks, but with it came more nausea. Groaning from the pain in her stomach that she had been feeling for a few days, Tila layed down, staring up at the evening sky, just waiting for the stars to come out. She hoped she didn't fall asleep, but if she did, at least she would once again be sleeping under the stars. However, she didn't think sleep would come too easily, for the pain was greater than it had been before.
For Better, For Worse || Drabbley/Headcanony thang
“Hey, baby,” Robbie said, appearing in the doorway of his wife’s hospital room. Cat gave him a weak grin as he came in, a plastic bag in his hands. Cat turned off the TV, which had the news on at a low volume as she propped herself up a bit more on the bed. “I didn’t know if you were hungry…I got you Taco Bell,” Robbie told her, sitting on the bed and nudging the bag toward her. Cat reached in and took a taco out, beginning to eat it. “Thank you, baby,” she said, “I was starving.” Cat quickly ate her taco, moving on to a second one. “Beck and Jade took Kin for us…” Robbie trailed off when there was a pause between them. “For a couple days,” he added, “And Jade’s gonna come visit tomorrow.” Cat sighed, setting her half eaten taco down and crossing her arms over her chest. She slumped down, remembering why she was in the hospital in the first place, and rolled onto her side, facing away from Robbie. He stood and circled around the bed to sit in a chair on the side she was facing.
The two sadly gazed at each other for a few minutes in silence, until Cat extended her arms, inviting Robbie to join her. Robbie stood, laying in bed next to her and wrapping his arms snugly around her. Cat started sobbing into his chest, causing Robbie to start to tear up as well. “Are you mad at me?” Cat managed to ask through her sobs. “Why would I be mad at you?” Robbie asked in reply. “‘Cause I feel like this is my fault,” she told him. Robbie swallowed, taking a deep breath. “Baby, this is not your fault. You couldn’t help it. Please, just, stop thinking this is your fault. Please.” Robbie pleaded, closing his eyes to try and stop tears from falling. Cat just looked up at him, her eyes big and swarming with tears. He eventually returned her gaze, bringing his hand up to cup her cheek and lightly stroke it with his thumb. “Look at my beautiful wife,” he said softly after a silence. Cat just teared up some more, curling up and burying her face in Robbie’s chest again, letting out more sobs.
What is something you regret?
A very touchy subject, thank you very much.
