Lee Pace as Brother Day, Foundation S01 E08: The Missing Piece (2021)
Hot Day in the desert.
(If I had the chance to center an entire episode around Lee Pace in a loincloth, I'd fucking do just the same.)

Can you pick scenes from your WIPs that could be described with these emojis? 🫀⛓️🧩
I'm sorry this took me so long! These are all stories that are backburner WIPs so no promises about any of them seeing the light of day

“I think I pity this poor bastard,” Cat said, leaning back in her chair to stare at him a bit more.
Magnus fell into his seat now that he was done with his recitation. “He can always say no. My clause about coercion means that no one can be forced. Willing husbands only, please.”
“There will be one, you must realize that,” Ragnor told him. “They are all, as a global species, frantic about this vision. They are not a people to back down from a challenge. You’ll have a list of applicants.”
“The Clave may select their candidate and if he fails this is over,” Magnus reminded.
His best friends stared at him.
This was quite a bit of staring, actually. Did he sense disapproval?
He sighed, “Please remember, this list isn’t meant to be followed. They’ll never find anyone to agree to these terms but even if they manage it, he won’t be able to follow it. I’m not including his death as a consequence for failure. None of my stipulations are anything like ‘whip yourself three times daily’ so the Clave can’t say that they’re not marriage based. Cook for me, be subservient to me, forsake all others. Those are marriage vows, aren’t they?”
“And what are you going to do if someone does agree?” Cat asked him. She was frowning in what Magnus was choosing to take as concern.
There was no need to be concerned. “No one will. If Ragnor is right and there actually is a candidate I imagine he’ll last a few days, fail, and then this can be over. The Shadowhunters tried, the Angels will see that. We can bring them around to the much more likely interpretation of this mysterious vision and they will hopefully throw themselves into friendship with a similar fervor.”
Magnus was quite certain this would all go to plan.
There was absolutely no need to worry.
--- ⛓️Untitled ---
Alec turned to flash him a little grin that melted Magnus’ heart.
This was his husband.
His husband of a full, glorious year. He didn’t know how he had gotten this lucky.
There was some sort of metaphor here. They had given up their anniversary trip to deal with this detestable situation but here they were, manacled side by side.
Although, if he was to be tied to Alec, he would prefer to have that happen somewhere with a bed. Perhaps a roaring fire and a bearskin rug.
Being trapped and chained to a wall in a dungeon that was cold, dirty and damp really didn’t lend itself to much amorous feelings.

“You are not doing this, Jace.” Izzy said and it sounded like she was repeating herself. Like she had been saying these words over and over again.
“You’ll be okay,” Jace promised her with something close to a smile. “You will. You have them now. You and Max will be okay. He’s leaving. I can feel it more and more every day and I can’t… I can’t feel it snap, Izzy, I can’t. Please don’t ask me to.”
Were they the them that Jace meant?
“This isn’t what he would want and you know it!” Izzy shouted. It nearly made Magnus flinch. She was so patient with Jace. She never raised her voice, never pushed him for more than he wanted to give. Hearing her shout at him now, hearing them fight, it only made this worse.
Silently, Magnus sent a spell along the edge of the building about five feet down. Jace might jump but he wouldn’t fall to his death.
He could tell them, announce it so Jace knew that it wasn’t going to happen so he had best get down, but Magnus didn’t. Jace could just try another method when their backs were turned. Interventions were rarely the right choice, in Magnus’ opinion, but if they were all here now, if this had to be happening, then they needed to use this moment to convince Jace to get down himself. To convince him to let them help finally.
“Jace, please get down,” Clary called to him.
He didn’t even look at her. Everything in him seemed wrapped up in Izzy’s eyes.
“He’d understand,” Jace said to Izzy.
Who is he?
